Looking for human tips
I ve read much of the topic speaking about human strategy, but still wondering about some things.
My main concern is how you handle bash team at high TR, like for example Orcs or Chaos taht will have aroung 8 to 10 players with guard while yourteam will prolly have 3 to 5. Human will prolly not be able to block a LOS with 3 guard Black orc, and if you open a gap in the wide zone, you end being stucked quicly.
I know the "play their weakness" concept, but i really think it s hard for a human team to handle a high TR Orc team.
Thanks for advices.

If the chaos team has 10 guards you most definitely will have at least 6. Humans can bash really good, they just can't survive in a prolonged fight so you need to avoid getting clumped up.
General blocking strategy applies:
Don't follow up on pushbacks unless the player in question really needs to be marked.
Push the opponents guard players away from the centre. If possible: tie up ST4 players with linemen a bit away from the fray. Your player will tie a good player up for several turns that way. This might be a worse idea if the opponent has MB.
If your opponent places three blackorcs on the Los you can get 2d on all of them easily:
HGGGH
_OOO_
H are humans, G are human guards and O are blackorcs. Just start with an H player and you will get three 2dblocks even if the first two are pushbacks.

I don't like small birds. They hop around so merrily outside my window, looking so innocent. but I know that secretly, they're watching my every move and plotting to beat me over the head with a large steel pipe and take my shoe.

It can be quite tough. Defence is the tough part - on offence you should be able to score reliably.
It really is a matter of being able to defend against the cage. There are two ways of doing this. Hopefully you have the Kick skill - if so, kick deep (or shallow and wide) and try and get to the ball before it gets into the cage - if you can manage this you'll get the turnover and the TD about 7/10. Of course a wise opponent won't let this happen.
Which leaves you to trying to break the cage. A good bashy team will usually have a ball carrier with Sure Hands, so Strip Ball may not cut the mustard, but is good to have anyways. The main thing is keep your Blitzers free, and send someone (preferably a catcher, but doesn't have to be) around the back to wait for a pass. You use your linemen and Ogre to try and make the bashy guys leave an opening for you - you will need to sacrifice them to hits to do this, but sooner or later your opponent will have a turn of pushbacks and both downs, which should give you an opportunity. Don't be afraid to take some risks to get a crack at a ball carrier - a dodge into a tackle zone is still only a 4+. Once you knock over the ball carrier, you must try and clear it. I usually try and throw it up ahead of the player you should hopefully have in the backfield. This will give the opposition two targets instead of one, as even if they knock over your receiver, they still don't have a TZ on the ball, so he or someone else can go pick it up.
Thats what I usually try and do, and I find against strong bashy sides coached by good players, it will work about 50% of the time. The hardest part I find is the actual Blitz - my Humans always seem to want to hit like wusses.

And for another 30K you get a player that can win you games on his own.Skummy wrote:All pretty decent advice - and remember that Zug is really, really cheap.

Thx for those valuable advices. I ll prolly give humans a try, i m not worried by the first games, but a littile more for long term. All those trick will help for sure.
By the way my league doesn t allow star players yet. (I m the commish and i m always afraid of star unbalancing the league but i m thinking of allowing them for next seasons).
Thanks to everyone
