Some late League Lizardmen questions

Post by Mightypeon »

Ok,
Thanks to some pretty funny events i am in the nifty position of heaving the following lineup:
1x Saurus without everything
2x Saurus Block guard
1x Saurus Block
2x Saurus Block, Breake Tackle, Tackle (jup, 2 times, well, one of them got 4 mvps, the other 3 touchdowns and a pass:P)
1x Skinks with Block sidestep
1x Skinks Block
Lots of Skinks with sidestep or flying tackle
One kroxigor who always gets killed before he levels up.
Apo
4 rerolls.

Well, I have 150K in the bank, what to get?
A) another rerolls?
B) Silly Billy + a Wizard in the next game (which is agasint a Dwarf team with guard on all and dodge or fearless on a lot of players)

And B) the Block Saurus, the skill less Saurus, one of the Block Guard Saurus and one of the Block Tackle break tackle Saurus are only steps away from their next Skill.
What should I give them?
The Blocking Saurs will propably get guard, so that I have a nice little neat line of 3 guarding block S4 players on the pitch. (isnt that great if things like S5 Claws Razor Sharp fangs Chaos warriors are running around though-.-)
The not blocking Saurus (i somehow feel that he will get a trait, but because i only rolled 2 traits and zero stats on some 28 increases thats nothing to count on) will get block, but i am also kinda tempted by Kick.
And what to give to a Block guard Saurus? I think mighty blow would be the ordinary way (more ouch on the line), tackle would lead into a similiar direction (we have a team with several dodging longbeards), but breack tackle would a lot of tactical flexibility.
I mean, mobile guarders.....
Well, what are your opinions?

Trust me, you can never have too many re-rolls! :D Well, OK, I know you can only have 8 TRRs but you know what I mean... :-? If I had one at the moment I rolled triple skulls at last year's Alberta Apocalypse in Calgary...you get the idea, I'm sure...

I play lizzards at fumbbl, take the reroll. My team have 5 rerolls and it feels right. Often i need only 2-3 during a half. But sometimes i need all.

Consider, you (mostly) don't have sure hands, tackle or block on skinks.

For your next advances: how much tackle are you gonna need? Mighty Blow works on every av/inj-roll, tackle works only against dodgy players. So if you only worry about some dodge-dwarfs I would go for MB, but if you will play other dodgy teams in the future, go tackle!

Good luck and report afterwards, looking forward!

Next advances: mighty blow! Because it helps to get spps for the Saurus and helps to make room for your skinks. When you have only 9 opponents against than you can "fix" them with the saurus/kroxi and your skinks can run far away (hopefully with the ball).

I still need guard and break tackle, i now. But it toke 10 games to get block an every saurus. Did you noticed the nice ageing of the single saurus? :P -ag 8)

With your team I indeed would have taken Break Tackle at least on 2 Sauri as a first. And for the skink with doubles, why didn't you take sure hands? Saves Rerolls. Catch on another, and you can move the ball 16 squares with a handoff and a pick up, both 3+ with a skill reroll.
Just my thoughts

The ageing Sauris is indeed a nice joke!

Getting strip ball on a skink is good too (at least until everyone has sure hands) because the odds of getting the ball loose on a 2 dice opponent choice block aren't too bad.

Strip ball was my idea, but everyone has sure hands t.t.
As for Block on Skink vs sure hands:
I rather go for Block, I tend to have enough rerolls and Blocking (at least in my eyes) helps more in ball carrying than sure hands.
Ill get cath on the scnd advance wioth a Skink, However sidestep seemed to be more essential.

Well, after winning 2:0 agasint a 219 tr Skaven team (and no I did win with touchdowns, not by forcing them all of the field) i feel pretty confident in my defensive abilitys.
(Well, I have stolen his ball, built up a Skink cage, and pounded them to dust with my saurus, rolles soemthing like 8 times a 9 on the infjury rolls-.-)
So it will probably be some mighty blows as Chaos and Dwarfs happen to be pretty hefty armoured
Gotta collext some bounties, killing the Claws Razor sharp fangs guy would get my an entire fan club:P

For my money 4rr is enough with a few block suari.

Maybe once you have 2 BreakTackle saurus all you want is MB and Guard. I would consider guard very good as in some top end games vs dwarf/orc/even amazon the nature advantage of lizards is lost a bit - so Kep up the arms race with 3or 4 guards as well.

Skinks are just interchange palyers. Block combos with sidestep and DT well. But as you know the skinks are just skinks - essential for ball and little else. Id just go for as many DT, sidestep as possible, maybe 1catch and thats it. They dont hang around long enough to get attached too - so just keep them simple.

Unless you have some other ideas they are imho the most uniform team in can think off. Break tackle, block guard on sauri - DT sidestep skinks - choose block or frenzy and thats it! Cant imagine a 300tr side would be any differnet in tactics or style from the 100vanila side.

The main difference is that high TR Lizard teams can doge better than some Elven teams.
This is extremly mean against Chaos opponents.
I just manage to pretty cleary beat a decently high TR chaos team by beeing able to choose my fights.
I could kinda split their team, cursh one side and than finish of the other.
The stupid claws razor sharp fangs guy sadly had a personal apo-.- + my team was under scrunity so I couldnt foul arrggghhh.
I mean, imagine this, a big fat Chaos Warrior with 2 freaking mutations lying prone on the ground, surrounded by 4 of your players and you cant foul!!!!
I am just lcuky that I am not the one to play next agasint this guys, the claws fangs guy got another trait + a Beastmen got the 3 Claw for this team.
