AG 4 LineOrc rolling double 5

Post by el sid »

I've got an AG4 LineOrc.

Last game it received a second star player roll: double 5.

What should I do with it?
I was not planning on giving it MA6. If I threw 4-6 it would get MA6, but not on a double 5. Not on a LineORC.

I'm doubting between Dodge (good combo with AG4), Guard (imperative on a bashy Orc team) or Leap (big surprise for any opponent: a leaping Orc!).

get leap. It's something you wouldn't otherwise get to use. then get strip ball. as good as guard would be, you'll get it on a troll, BOBs and blitzers, so don't worry too much about passing up the opportunity.

Never ever give a line orc with AG 4 Guard. He'll be having enough trouble staying alive as it is!

Stand Firm would be nice so you can dodge with him at no risks. Leap is very funny, but when it fails the lino will be a fouling target.

Difficult choice.

Think the additional MA would be nice as he may end up catching and scoring TD's quite a lot which gives him access to the other skills sooner rather than later. However I mus admit Leap is very amusing and would also get my vote...Guard-No though!

Line Orcs aren't allowed to take strength skills so Stand Firm isn't an option, right?

I once had a AG4 Beastman that I gave Leap. He was the best!

Draco, I know you're clocking on a bit, and the memory's failing, but really...

On a blitzer I'd have said go Dodge, but for a lineorc...hmmm - guess leap sounds like fun.

In a way accurate could be more useful than leap, but as you have the opportunity to develop a good thrower anyway, go with leap.

I'd let him take the movement, which is rediculous because i hate move ups, but an agi 4 player needs at least 6 ma to be truly terrorizing i think. gaurd and dodge would be my other options.

as orcs you don't need leap on defense, i wouldn't take that personally, but i have a deep hatred of the skill

good pint actually ag4 is a waste with only ma5 - so might as well.
Maybe block next- + sure hands as a 'runner' player

After pondering the issue for a long time, and watching your comments, I think I'll go with the MA upgrade.

My other (favourite) team is Skaven. If I get a MA upgrade on any rat, I'll take it without giving it a thought. And I never regretted it!

The weak point of the Orcs is their mobility. A MA6 AG4 LineOrc will highly increase my mobility potential. It'll be the perfect ball handler, certainly after I get it Block.

Also each turn I'll probably be able to make use of the MA upgrade. Some skills you only use once or twice during a complete game! And running around at MA6 doesn't burn re-rolls! Very important when your Black Orcs don't have Block yet!

So MA6 it is!

Thanks for the input.

I think that you will need dodge to take full advantage of his movement.

If your player is tied up you'll have to dodge in order to use his movement

but since you're playing in my league just take the MA
