Skill for a strength upgrade Dark Elf Blitzer

Post by El_Jairo »

I have a Blitzer with Bodlge and now he has got a strength upgrade. What skill should I give him first?

Pro for making his blocks and blitzes count.
Tackle, for getting other blodgers down,
Strip Ball, since I don't have one yet,
or Leap, to make him more dangerous, but on the other hand more vournable when he is alone behind the lines.

Any ideas, experiences with strenght upgrade DE Blitzers? All Welcome.

St4 blitzers are the same as st3 ones, just they have added strength. Same use applies as before - so same skills.

Block+Dodge, leap, tackle, sidestep in order of play style

He would be a nice cage buster with leap since he will get two dice against most opponents

I am a big fan of Tackle, I would also consider strip ball depending on the number of sure hands pieces scurring about the league.

ST 4 leap may be interesting.....

But don't count out frenzy on doubles with st 4..... :D

(Mighty blow is surely a fine fine choice.)

I just like to toss out other ideas.

(they were other ideas when I first started typing after juck. Then I waited so long to submit it. I guess I've more redundant.)

cheers, all solid advice as far as I can see.

Depends on team balance - its always quick to jump and suggest a skill or two but really helps if we knew what else you were trying to do with your team and what was the common theme! Looking at your team you have a lot of variety but key skills - kick, Sure hands, are also missing? Is he to be a front man on line-up if so Guard could be an option if he is just a heavy hitter go for the MB/T route. If he's to be a scorer as well could be too diversified so leap could restrict him!
Sure a Str4 Blodge player could use mighty blow, tackle or leap well but what opponents are this team regularly facing as this is the key to what skills are needed?

More info is key!! 8) 8)

I'd be very tempted to go Sure Hands and make him your TD distributor. Cage up with him and play the running game, hand off to whoever else needs a touchdown for the SPP's. Playing defence against a blodging 4 ST ballcarrier is a nightmare.

I would consider sidestep purely because blodge and sidestep will make him a nightmare for your opponents!

I would probably go tackle, or sidestep

maybe sidestep first since you have a good witch with tackle, but if you play a lot of elves, go tackle ;)

While I agree with your point, it is still possible to give generalized advice with some value.

Those are clearly not skills for an ST4 Dark Elf blitzer though!

Remember that as a Dark Elf Blitzer, he would need doubles for either Guard or Mighty Blow. They don't get regular access to ST skills.

Sure a Str4 Blodge player could use mighty blow, tackle or leap well but what opponents are this team regularly facing as this is the key to what skills are needed?
