That depends Redfang, what is the statline of XXX?
But honetsly, this is one of the most common questions on TBB and I guess we have been through all positionals possible so far - and usually 99% opted for taking the ST-increase. I think it would be sensible to make a search before posting this "classic" question again...

No one is posting here to boast. ST increases are unexpected and usually lead to difficult dilemas. Whats the point in having a tactics section if people are going to put you down for asking for help? Every situution is different depending on the player, the team, other teams in the league and the rules you are using so saying you can just search for the search function is not a very helpful responce. Taking the ST isn't always the answer otherwise people wouldnt be asking the question.

I dont think the answer is always take the ST. I rolled a ST on my Pro Elf thrower and turned it down in favour of strong arm. Easy decision. The ST +1 on my ogre was a difficult decision but I still turned it down after listening to several opionions in favour of sure hands. + 1ST isnt that useful on every player.

the only justifiable time i've ever seen someone turn down +st was not even a valid justification any more.
back in vanilla 3rd edition bb, you couldn't throw an ST3 goblin. (more technically, you couldn't have right stuff on a player with more than st2) a guy had a goblin on an orc team, and his only reason for existence was to be thrown by morg n thorg.
that's the whole list, and as i said it's not even an issue any more.

nope, i'd still give a horns/dless gutter runner +ST if given the chance. remember dauntless only works when you're doing the hitting, and ONLY if you make the die roll. trust me, i've failed that 4+ on 2d6 enough times to not take it for granted.
st3 is with you all the time, offense or defense, your turn or opponents, no dice roll required.
