If you've taken Dauntless first then its a harder decision than if you've taken Horns. However I reckon Dauntless is the better skill (since it works against higher strengths and doesn't require a blitz & run up) so I normally take that first.TuernRedvenom wrote:No.jimy wrote:Except for a player (e.g. gutter runner) with dauntless or horns. With a double six you can make a perfect blitzer with horns and dauntless. Even better than a player with +1st. don't you think?![]()
No really, even then +1 str is better as it keeps you from getting knocked down easily yourself. You still have 4 str on the charge, that's still a 2 die block against most opponents.

So does that mean you shouldn't sack a player who has gained a ST?
I know a man who has just sacked a ST 4 Block Hobgoblin because he only had AG 2

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

depends on the team but I would have kept him on even with AG2 and built him as a frontline blocker. I mean an Orc is Str 4 Ag 2 to start with??Munkey wrote:So does that mean you shouldn't sack a player who has gained a ST?

Decreases on stunties... If you have money aplenty retire them, but I would just kep using them till they die. A halfling is still more expensive than stealing re-rolls. And with Gobbo's you could use the money of early retirement better by freebooting secret(?) weapon players.
Playing stunties = free casualties for your opponents. That decrease really doesn't matter.

Back to the ST4 AG2 Hobo:
I'd sack him too, even more if he has no Block. A ST4 line fodder Hobo will instantly be beaten up by someone at the LOS with either Block or ST4 himself, leaving you a squishy AV7 guy who gets stunned very often and if the opponent has someone with MB you'll be in numerous disadvantage very soon.
Another problem: To field him, you have to forfeit another player on your team - a Chaos Dwarf, Bull Centaur, an AG3 Hobo or Big Guy. All of them are more vital to the team than a ST4 AG2 AV7 no skill dude.
