i tought that when i move against a vampire that he can make a HG
Your the second person I've seen think that the rulebook saying a Move action means anyone's Move action ... in the Vault re-write we fixed this so the wording is more clear:
The player may use hypnotic gaze at the end of his Move action on one opposing player who is in an adjacent square.
So you can only use Hypnotic Gaze at end of the player with Hypnotic Gaze's move action ... not any players move action.
Yes. Its a move action as part of the HG, not a blitz action. IIRC you CANNOT Blitz and HG as 1 action - that is, the HG has to be at the end of a MOVE action - though.

it requires a huge amount of "mauvaise foi" to keep wanting to read it "any player's move action" instead of "the vampire's move action" when someone told you it was the correct interpretation.
i can understand it is maybe a tiny bit confusing, but once you have been explained the rule, you should be like "omg i was so stupid not to understand it the first time", and not put on your rules-lawyer outfit.
Well, a member of the BBRC has just told you that this is not how it was intended to be interpreted, and nobody else plays it that way. You asked if the team was broken, we didn't agree, and you're playing it differently than the intened way to do so with much, much better results than a "normal" team.
While I agree that not having a rules review is a bad idea, I don't know that you can hang this one on them...

i did not ask if this team is broken!!
i just told how the players here played it and it is something that shoud be in the FAQ
Yes, it was Manic D who started this thread and asked whether they are broken.
It is a normal phenomenon of "isolated" gaming groups to use wrong rules or a misinterpretation of things that the larger community handles differently.
I have experienced leagues where fundamental rules were used wrong but everybody thought that's the way to go. Also, it is usually difficult for a single person getting the "right" answer from the internet and trying to persuade the rest of his group to correct their misinterpretation. Once a wrong rule is adopted and used for a long time within a closed circle of players the argument "the rules guy from the internet said so" isn't that much convincing. Usually their reply is "get me something officially printed that says so."
Yeah i meant to say "straight injury." And what did the BBRC guy say about HG? That it can only be used on the controlling Vampire team's turn not during the opponent's turn?

100% correct even of the LRB 4.0.
To play it the other way is pardon me ... insane.
If you read it as any Move Action by ANY player instead of the Vampire then in effect each Vampire could use Hypnotic Gaze in theory up to 11 times EACH turn. Come on ... that's just sooooooo broken it should not need debate. Field 6 Vampires move then into contact with the other team. Move one Thrall and then Gaze 6 times. If you didn't succeed. Move another Thrall and Gaze with all 6 again. Good Lord it would be completely impossible to EVERY defeat this team.
I mean if anyone is actually claiming that each Vampire should be able to use this skill at the end of every Move action ... I REALLY want to come play Vampires in their leagues. I'm a pretty decent Vampire player ... but with those rules ... I'd be unstoppable. If you can get a Vampire on the Ball Carrier ... you'd force the team to always Move the ball carrier first because moving anyone else would mean that I could gaze him into immobility and keep trying to do so for every player you moved before the ball carrier and with ST 4 on the Vampires ... you'd never move the ball. It would be a slaughter especially after I took Diving Tackle and Pro on the Vampires. -2 to the Dodge roll if you move the ball carrier first ... 50% chance to try the Gaze roll twice for the 1st move action if you don't.
If you HG the guy with the ball, does he drop the ball? It specifically says he becomes stupid for the turn and cannot catch or pick up the ball... but i didn't understand if it means they drop it too, or just cant pick it up.
i'd say an HG'ed (or BH'ed or RS'ed) player doesn't drop the ball, but i don't have the time to check in the LRB or FAQ and give you exact quotes (if there exists any).
I played friendly match against vampire team with my Khemry, he had 3 rerolls 4 vampires and 10 thralls. Game ended with 3 vampires on the ground, rest of his team were in KO or injured. 6 casualities and 5 KO's. No cas to my players . Maybe I will try to play them next league to test myself.
