Let me go through what teams are on my pyramid with me
In the pit we have a rookie or very weak Amazon team, and a Nurgle team (the one I beat down in my first game)
Teir one is full as is teir 2, but that can change any moment. Let me explain who is where.
The Teir 1 teams are: Lizardmen, My Humans (I need a name for them anyone want to help?), Orc, and someone I can't remember.
Teir 2 teams are: Amazons that beat me down, but I will destroy once I get tackle. Chaos team that started with a Mino, and 10 Beastmen, and has a ton of block, and a Claw guy already (plus a warrior), and a Dark Elf team.
Onto the coaches of each team. This is a big difference maker in who I play.
The Pit: The Nurgle guy I can beat usually without a problem. Amazon guy has beaten me before, but I have a feeling I can beat him if he doesn't have block. Both guys are very friendly, and don't try to hurt me or my team.
Teir 1: Lizardman coach just got fouled a lot, and plays a chaos murder team elsewhere (so you see how his style is), the Orc guy is my friend, but he started stock blitzers, black orcs, and troll that is not a good thing. The other guy I don't remember well I said I don't remember lol.
Teir 2: Chaos player likes to foul alot and hurt people, thats is not good. The Dark Elf player fouls for no reason. The amazon guy has blodge on every single player and you saw how that first encounter went.
I was thinking of buying the catcher and going down to 40K in treasury. I have work tomorrow, and closed league play before I can get in my next game. I will try to play soon, if I do who do you guys suggest me playing? Praying for somone to move up from teir 2 so I can challenge a guy equal to me?
If I have that 40K in treasury, I won't make as much next game, I won't earn as much and we will go from that point when we reach it. But just on the sake of discussion.
If I make it out of the game alive with no problems. I will have a 12 Man Roster with 2 Catchers, 4 Blitzers, 1 Thrower, 5 Lineman. Would I buy another Catcher, hold the money, or save up for an Ogre. (In my league you pretty much need the Big Guy either to contend with other Big Guys, or to just absorb hits.) And in my opinion The Ogre is the best Big Guy out there with the exception of the Kroxigor.

In general, the key skill for Humans against elves is Guard. The 4 ST access Blitzers will generally provide more of it than the elves have. This allows you to create local strength advantages, preferably around the ball.
You're strength advantage is usually stronger than their agility advantage, particularly given the extra ballhandling skills Humans start with. You're also faster than Dark Elves which helps as well.
Do your best to force the use of rerolls, which will exacerbate this situation in your favour. Your skill rerolls mean you can live without rerolls better a lot of the time.
You have the one guard on your team, hopefully he has none. The guard should either be near the ball or where you want the ball to go, or preparing to be near the ball. Don't let him get tied up where he can't be of use (ie do NOT put him on the los for the sake of frivolous 1st turn blocking).
On defense keep him in reserve until committing him will get you a shot at turning him over.
Try not to expose him to too much risk either - protect him as best you can. If he does get taken out, you're effectively playing straight up, depending on the numbers when it occurs.

I played a very disappointing game 3 today. I should have been the favorite in this match, I was wrong. I mean a TR120 Human team vs a TR 100 Skaven team should have been a no problem for me right?
Well lets just say this I started the game off with 10 men and ended it with 10 men, and my 2 miss nexts coming back to me. My team is good, they are looking like I said before. I try to pass and catch the ball fail 2 turns in a row, and go down 1-0 due to evil Gutter Runners, I continue, and try to do it again, fail, followed by a success. But that guy gets hit and I lose the ball resulting in a turn over and a TD for him AGAIN. I finish out the half down 2-0. He gets the ball and takes a 3-0 lead because my team can't handle not only the ball but we can't break Skaven armor either. I get some advice from my opponent because I am not used to the speed I am blessed with on Humans. I decide to run my catcher up the field and he scores in 2 turns. I am down 3-1. My team eventually is overcome by the rats hitting me (that is sad isn't it?) and he scores TD4 and I lose 4-1.
But now that is horrible and I move down a tier in my pyramid (which ain't always so bad because the opponents are weaker). But I get 3 skills my way. Alright I roll all normal skills on my players, but for the first skill that is good. I aged though FIRST SKILL AGING, not on some stick lineman, but on my thrower who aged into a niggle. He has now Accurate, but a Niggle. I am not sure on weather or not to keep him.
The other players got block, your typical skill. It was a lineman, and a catcher (thank God the blodging catcher now).
My Fan Factor went up, and my team rating probably went up too, I mean I got 2 Cas, and 1 TD, plus an MVP and like 4 or 5 completions.
I think I earned about enough money to buy an ogre which would make my team a lot better. I mean the team looks like this (I don't know specific's with points so I'll only list skills new ones)
Blitzer
Blitzer
Blitzer
Blitzer, Guard
Thrower, Accurate (NI)
Catcher, Block
Catcher
Lineman, Block
Lineman
Lineman
Lineman
Lineman
I think I have 120K in bank, in which case an Ogre right? Also my next game should be simple enough. Right now I am earning up my SPP as best I can

Even though no one replied to my thread about what I should or shouldn't use in for my next game and what I should be doing, I decided to go ahead and play the game.
I was playing the Nurgle team I played in my first game with humans, and this game I dominated. He got a handi-cap of illegal drugs, and elected to take an AG+ on a beastman. That was good because it helped him earn a skill. I on the other hand just destroyed everything. I out ran, and out bashed. The score could have easily been 5 or 6-0 but my team well, they don't know how to make completions or pick up the ball. So I only won 2-0, but regardless of the result I earned 5 skills
I got a skill on 3 of my blitzers, on 1 lineman, and on my other catcher. I was quite happy with the rolls too. The lineman, and blitzers rolled normal skills, but the catcher rolled an AG+. I was sooo happy with that result. I also fired, and rehired my thrower, because with only 6 points, and 1 skill I could replace him My team now currently looks like this:
Blitzer~Guard
Blitzer~Guard
Blitzer~Guard
Blitzer~Guard
Thrower
Catcher~Block
Catcher~AG4
Lineman~Block
Lineman
Lineman
Lineman
Lineman~Block
Ogre~(got the MVP so is only 1 point away from his skill YIPPEE)
I have a FF of 10, and treasury of 20K I think, I spent a little on the new thrower. My team rating is a 144 right now after only 4 games. I guess I am earning a lot of points going up and up and up. I hope to win my next game, and if I do win that game I know I'll be able to move up the ladder to the top of the pyramid and hopefully hit the peak sooner, or later it is something I hope I can accomplish and hopefully will.
Would anyone help me out on a route to progress my players, and what to do with them.

I would have taken guard on only 3 blitzers, and tackle or strip ball on the fourth. Very handy to have as a back field sweeper. You were right about firing thethrower, the new one will skill up as fast as the old one. You can easily (without getting mvp's, cas or td's) get 3 spp's by completions per game, so in 2 games he would have a skill as well. After accurate I would go for block on your thrower, to help him survive, unless you roll doubles of course, in which case strong arm is very nice, or dodge. Decide what kind of catchers you want, defensive or offensive. If you want to field them on defense block, sidestep and pass block can be handy. On offense go teh sure feet and sprint way.
Good luck!
Good luck!

I agree to fire the thrower is right. I would only given one blitzer guard. The other two should have tackle and Strip ball. The tackle blitzer should chase this Gutter runners and other catchers types. The strip ball blitzer is to get the ball off from the elven and other players with out sure hands. Now you have to wait a while until you get this option. But guard could work as well as you should try to get 3 dice block on the catcher.
To your catcher with AG 4 you try to develop him into a interception maschine. Pass block and afterwards shadowing. This is risky but it could get a few problems for the opponents.
Good luck so far with your team. I think it is on a good way....

Since I will probably bring my team into becoming a Perpetual league I don't want to specialize my blitzers against these types of players at the moment. I know no one else is taking the tackle route so my catchers are doing nice, and have a probability of survival. The guard on the blitzers is so I can have mobile nasty body guards. They become MA7 always give an assist body guards to the catcher, or a lineman, or a thrower, or each other. I mean they are good to just use to walk around and throw an assist in the mix. If I get into a fight with other teams I can use the blitzers to be like yea no matter what it is two dice my choice. Because most other teams aren't getting the skills. As of right now everyone on the team with a skill has about 6, or 7 SPP. No one is a beast or machine. The points are spread out evenly. The only ones without a point really are the linemen. I am considering the lineman to score so they can all get block then add in a dirty player, and a kicker, or get up to 16 SPP with my AG4 catcher so he can get another skill and survive longer. I am not fully sure on that. I would really enjoy if the Ogre could pick up a CAS next game so he can get a skill. It doesn't matter what the skill may be, but any skill would be nice. I mean anything from Guard, to Multiple Block. Both would be excellent for him. It enables him to take out two players on one hit, or giving him Guard give me 5 guard players before ever getting a double.
As for Stat Increases/Doubles, I was thinking of going this:
Blitzers: I was thinking of Dodge, Stand Firm, or Frenzy. All three of these are good. The Frenzy to make them get more CAS, the Dodge to make them a very mobile blitzer, Stand Firm to make them not go anywhere.
Catchers: I am really unsure of what to give them here. They can blodge, sidestep on a normal basis, and they are good scorers in general. But when looking at them if they double it up, what do I give them? Jump up? Guard? I mean imagine throwing a catcher like that in the mix with Guard. But I don't know
Throwers: First thrower I am making a passer so block is not going to be my first selection here. I have 13 players at the moment, and for now that blodge catcher is very good on defence. The AG4 catcher is also rather good on defence being able to dodge like a pro. So the first thrower is going to get Strong Arm on doubles, and basically become a blockless passing machine. As for the other thrower I think Dodge is good for him to make him a mobile guy who runs in gets the ball leaves tosses it.
Linemen: This is easy there are two skills that I can give them on doubles really. Those two skills are guard, or diving tackle. depending on how my division will look will determine my skill choice.
Ogre: First double BLOCK, second double DODGE. Imagine a blodge break tackle big guy...wow. (We can always pray)
For normal skills the blitzers are taking two different paths. Two blitzers are getting tackle next, then the other blitzers are getting mighty blow next. The Mighty Blow blitzers can clean up on a lot of guys, and the tackle blitzers can take down the gutter runners and such. Catchers are going the same two different routes. Linemen are going to be block, tackle guys, and the rest are normal.
Does that sound good?

The skills for the blitzer sound good.
Did you reed the article on http://www.specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/articles.asp? I think some thoughts are really nice but I could figure them out.
For the catchers I would go Nerves of steel or jump up. So can catch the ball even if you are in a tackle zone and then move into the endzone. There is no need to move the player in endzone first (with sidestep this doesn't matter). When he has got sidestep I would select Jump up.
The throwers are fine for me as well. You might think about nerves of steel on the secound thrower to pick up the loose ball and throw it away to one of your safer players. But you can take dodge as well to get away from your nasty opponents.
For the lineman I would have two with guard (on a double) for the line in addition to your ogre it will be difficult to get easy two block dice. Afterwards I would get a leader and then you might think about diving tackle.
For the Ogre the first double is BLOCK noch question about it. But on the secound double I would take Pro just to have a option that he doesn't went bonehead in some key situation. Third double I would give him stand firm. If you roll no doubles go guard, Break tackle and then multiblock.
This is just my oppinion. I hope it helps a bit....

Since I am a sneaky SOB, I have enabled the Pyramid to gain a new level due to more teams being added, and a suggesting it to the comish(AKA owner of the store). He Okayed it. This makes my life more interesting to say the least. If I can conive people on the lower tier to play me to gain my team up that would be excellent. I mean this team is developing faster then any team I ever used before, and is going up in TR faster then any team I ever used. I am only 2-2 but in the games I realize I have lost I just gain SPP by passing, CASing, and trying to score. As you can see I am doing very well for being all rounded. Now my big decision is do I attempt to get my linemen skills to get them all block, and then take down the Chaos team, or do I gain more skills with my AG4 catcher (just so he gets block, giving him blodge, and making him nearly impossible to take down for the moment. Also at the moment I have 13 man roster.
The 4 that have been taking the field on offence, and defence are the 4 blitzers, 2 catchers, thrower, and linemen. I am trying to think, if my next few games go well, and no one dies, and I earn more money do I buy my second thrower, or an additional catcher go to up to 3. I mean I think the second thrower might be better in that he can take some passing SPP away from my first thrower, but a new catcher will make the rest of the team guard him so he can level up with the rest of the team. I want the SPP to be evenly distributed so the team can not become dependant on one player.
As for the set up I said with the two catchers on the field. I am thinking of not fielding the AG4 catcher on defence. This way he can become a scoring threat. By gaining Block next, and then sure feet he is an almost gauranteed 10 MA player. After that sprint to give him a solid MA11. I wouldn't mind having that type of movement on offence. He can then be like "hello wood elf catcher, or gutter runner, I am a pain in the ass" The other two catchers I am considering to use on defence strictly once I buy them. I definately want 4 catchers, I have determined the ST2 is not good, but definately something I can live with, so I recant my statments about them needing an additonal ST to be fair. But the defensive catchers I want to give block sidestep, diving tackle, shadowing. This way the opponent will not get away. Bless my player if he gets another skill without dieing or aging he is getting tackle so it is impossible to escape.
Sorry about my rant but the question is next do I buy an additonal thrower, or catcher? The other question is who gets the TD's next, linemen to equalize the field and give me block, or the AG4 catcher?
