Having a pass blocker would have helped, but it's a bit too late for that, I guess.
What skills do your guys have? If you have enough stand firm guys you may want be able to play higher up the pitch. I assume that you are thinking of winning the game and not just preventing him from scoring in 1 turn?
Shadowing be out of the question............

MXx's line up is not too bad. But I would spread 5 or 6 dwarfs on the middleline. He will have to block to make some space. If he does not block he still has to catch the ball in a TZ and then either use the leap or the dodge.
Force him to take as much actions as possible. I the backfield also spread the team as far as possible. Make sure one line has all tackle players, if possible both. It's not full proof, but he will have to work for it!

Ok i didn t explained it really well here s it :MixX wrote:I don´t quite get this, unless the one-turner is stopped or fails somehow, there is no way to get better than a draw before over-time.neverdodge wrote:Don t stall for 8 turn, score faster, say 3 or 4 turns. Then play good defense and either stop the offence or pressure him so he score in 2 turns, you ll have 3 or 4 turn to reply. If you suceed you won the half
What bother me is that a lot of people complain about 1 turner, stop stalling for 8 turns and you don t ha ve to care about them
You receive, score before turn 8 letting him 2 or 3 tunr to score. HE ll prolly not use his 1 turner as he don t really nned it. Then play good defense and stop him (or even better counter him) then 2nd half the score is 1-0 yet, he receive, he score, you receive you score on turn 8.
That s what i mean when i say stop stalling 8 turn then complain about of 1 turner, instead give yourself a chance to defend against a standard offense

Well, back in the 3rd ed days, and even through most of the later revisions all the way up to LRB, whenever people complained about One Turn Scorers, that was my response. That's what cards and wizards are for. Now, you being a dwarf (sorry I missed that the first time) wizards aren't the answer, but cards certainly are.Asmodan wrote:Well guess there really is no way to stop him except hope i get a good card (which i am really thankful we are using when facing a team like that)
Guess i will just try to go for getting most casualities in the game...again
As for the LRB, I think that's the greatest single flaw of the system. In their endless quest for balance and power reduction, they've overlooked the one turn scorer, which by comparison is now much stronger.

"Much" stronger is a matter of opinion, though. OTS is really only possible with the fragile teams, and while I was half-joking earlier when I advocated the kill-crazy rampage, these teams don't have enough money, usually, to field enough players to keep the OTS off the pitch.
So let the team with the OTS score, receive the kick, cage, and go hunting. Werewolves, Witch Elves, and Gutter Runners never live long after they skill up a bit for more or less this reason -- the entire league, seeing the unbalanced player, reacts by making it a massive target.

Take 8 turns to score on each of your drives....killing elves the whole way.
force him to score in one turn....1's still come up...
pray to win coin toss and win game in OT.

Hey we did our best to limit OTS in the PBBL rules without completely eliminating it.
For example this player would not be able to have more than MA 10 with PBBL. (so he'd normally have to be on the line to do the LOS which opens him up more to Blitzes and Perfect Defense) and require him to usually GFI 3 times to get the OTS barring a Quick Snap.

i don't mind OTS. the teams that get them tend to be the teams that take the most cas, so it sooner or later that OTS is gonna be on the field where it will die!

With the "Must Field 11" rule, I don't think it's as much of a problem as it was.
That said, that doesn't help Asmodan none.

I hate OTSers, so all bets are off when they hit the field. Basicly, they force you to destroy the opposing team. The only guaranteed way is to kill everyone! No mercy. I mostly hate them because they force you to play like a jerk to stop them. I don't want to cripple someones team, but its the only way.

What does OTS mean? Does anyone else think that players should have caps on the highest their stats can go? I mean, a player like you're describing is pretty much an abomination to the rules and takes a lot of fun out of the game. I think he should be forced to retire at gunpoint...

I hate them, but don't want to outlaw them. I just think I should get SPPs for fouling him to death.
