Minotaur.

But failing that I'd settle on Frost Troll or Snow Troll
The Norwegian trolls are very distinct features. They have long crooked noses, only four fingers and toes on each limb, and most of them have a long bushy tail. Some trolls are giants, others are small. There are stories of two-headed as well as three-headed trolls, and even a few with only one eye in the middle of their wrinkled foreheads. Others have trees and rough mosslike growth all over their heads and noses. The trolls come out after sunset. The sun would cause them to crack, turn into stone and burst. They have supernatural powers, and do usually bring good luck

This is not necessarily true.

That would be like saying that all snakes are venomous or that all dogs bark. Difficult climates and genetics create different species that are sometime very very different.

OK, I'll eat my words, then, and speak for the Norwegian snow trolls only. They really are really stupid, trust me. =)

As you can see from the link posted earlier, John Bauer's Swedish trolls fo appear both smaller and a lot more cunning than the Norwegian variants frequently depicted by Theodor Kittelsen and Erik Werenskiold. (Wiki troll article here, for reference.)

Usually protagonists in Norwegian folk-tales had far less problems defeating trolls by tricking them in some way, rather than risking mortal peril entering hand-to-hand combat directly.

But even if we're merely discussing the snow trolls of the Warhammer world: How would the snow troll be stopped from eating Norsemen? How could it be coerced or flattered into playing Blood Bowl? Is it not the enemy of civilized men after all?

Still my two pieces of troll's gold.

I like the Yeti concept but think snow troll opens up more creativity on miniatures as you could use a Yeti figure or troll figure painted blue & icy!! Therefore voted Snow Troll!!

I wouldn't call the Norse very civilized. =)

But anyways, either they trick their trolls into playing for them, or they use their superior numbers and/or weaponry to force them. Like orcs and goblins probably do with their trolls.

I thought the Greenskins just fed them a Goblin now and then. ;)

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I voted Yeti, thinking of it as a polar Sasquatch variant captured on the Nagarroth coast by Norse raiders a decade ago and renamed as a legendary monster described by foreign travellers...
