I even tried to throw a pass in turn 8 with a chaos dwarf who is stuck with 1 MVP but no other SPPs for 12 matches now (he failed of course).

thanks for all the vaild points.

the guy plays helf.

i suppose it is part of the game, i play norse and will awlays try and knock players down but only to help in that game. by turn 7 or 8 in the second half i would only knock down players that could score.

but i will talk to him about his sportsmanship with kids because if players are leaving my league or not playing because he "killed off" there new team then i think i'm in my right.

I'd rather someone threw passes for SPP's against a newbie, than threw needless blocks. At least passing SPP's don't hurt the newbie team.

Would you want to train your new players like the Master trained Wimp Lo?

Think about it he can either put his team at risk and their team, by tossing a pass into a clutter, cage himself in. Block the opponent out (possibly killing things), run and score. It becomes a 8-0 game with massive SPP, but both teams can be hurt, this way he passes it forcing many dice rolls, and then he has to hope the other team doesn't rush his feild. If you really wanna show unsportsmanlike conduct then knock down his line, foul them out. Rinse and repeat. By this happening he can't compete in the bash game forcing him to run away and score, you turn his game against him and foul him out. It is VERY low, but if you feel he is doing this to abuse the kid players, and take an advantage of them it becomes not fun anymore. I mean I guess you can consider me a kid player I am 17 years old, I can tell you if my opponent was doing that and not playing as we call it "a patty-cake game" I would hurt his team in any possible way I could. I mean it is only thing you can do to counter act his actions and doing, that is all I can really say.

If he is just gaining SPP and playing that way and not causing anyone else to not have fun then just do it back pass away and have fun.

i think its fine if its on turn 7 or 8, no one can score, and its an easy way to get his lines some spp

but if he spends the whole match just tossing it back and forth(if youll excuse the expression) theres gotta be something wrong with him, and i advise him to play a nicely developed chaos team with lots of claw, RSC, and DP.

perfectly valid, as it is perfectly valid to throw "needless" (that doesn't exist in BB) blocks.

if he destroys teams coached by newbies, you shouldn't blame him, but you should teach the newbies that it is the game, and they should enjoy it as it is. oh, and you should teach them about Dirty Player so they can dish out some punishment as well =) make him taste his own blood ^^

I was about to reply, but then I read this post, which is basically what I was going to say. My bashers throw tons of "needless" blocks hoping for the Cas SPP when we're dominating the field.

When i play AG3+ teams i aim for all players to get at least 1 spp on all players for them to benefit from a random MVP.
This is easier with completions than casualties for players without block.

Every team can f**k up a game..

I played my wood elves vs dwarfs..

I lost the toss and had to start the game..

2nd turn TD for me 1-0

I kick off and the dwarfs cage up. I cant get the baal how hard I try..

On turn 6 he is on my td zone.. but doesn't score he just waits.. on turn 8 he scores.. 1 - 1

2nd half I kick off.. Dwarfs cage up.. Just not lucky enough to get the ball..
The dwarfs are able to score on turn 4 but they dont.. they just wait.. Till turn 8 to do so..

I lost the game by 2 to 1 and gained 1 TD and 2 completions..

The dwarfs got 2 TD's and 5 cas (I dont think any completions)..

The game wasn't fun, But it's the game.. my elves didn't have te skill's yet to beat it..
I didn't roll well on the handycaptable but I dont think it wouldn't make much of a difference..

Because we are talking spp's, it's league and that means it's about winning. Sure you play for fun first and foremost but you play league cause it's fun and you want to win. spp's only help your team win more games later. It's a whole lot harder for elves to get spp's throwing blocks and live so you pass. Fair? no.. but it's the rules. I think it evens out in the end.

How old were the kids he played? Are they too young to understand bloodbowl strategy?

Passing teams pass the ball and score TDs for SPPs. Bash teams throw blocks and hope for CAS to get SPP.

In our league, everything goes. It is BloodBlowl. But all players in our league are experienced, so we don't have cases of players abusing newbies.

Last season, our Chaos coach gave each of his Beastmen an SPP by passing the backfield. Risky. It went against him on a regular basis and he lost some games because of this. But his Beastmen got their first skill very quickly and after 10 games his team was pretty good, and he stopped the backfield passing since there was not point anymore.

I have a problem with people that complain that doing something that is well within the rules is not OK. I don't get it.

For the newbies though, yes it can be frustrating to get clobbered. But that's the best way to learn. You get beat badly, learn from your mistakes, and do better next time. If you take it easy on them, it will take them much longer to improve.

i don't like coaching dwarves, but if i did, i'd play every game exactly as described by the wood elf coach above.

kick to opponent in first half, GIVE them a quick score, take rest of 1st half to pound elves and score on turn 8.

2nd half, receive, pound more elves and score on turn 8. Win 2-1 every time, er almost every time anyway. :)
