I voted yes at 51%.

I think the ulfwhatever is broken with both st4 and mv7 + a decently skilled rest of team.

At the end of the day, I don't think the problem lies with the norse - it lies with the amazons.
Increasing their rerolls to 50k would be a good first step for a change...

More importantly he can manage to play a game of Blood Bowl without eating the players?

As far as 'zons are concerned, I'd say that if you decrease the ST for Throwers and Catchers to 2 (they're female), that might help tone them down a bit. They still have the easy access to blodge but aren't as easy to use bashy, have to be more finese, dodgey.

As someone has said this doesn't really solve the long term survivability of the norse team. Some players would need more armour and if that was implemented there would be no need for that strong frenzyplayer.

Also - ditch the thrower and make the catcher a runner (same stats but sure hands instead of catch)

Personally, I am bitterly dissapointed that this has been shouted down without any actual play testing.

I am not saying that the proposed line up was perfect, but it was worthy of being tested and tweaked. Personally I have a lot of problems with the LRB Norse team, and I can't describe how excited I was at the thought of testing a new norse lineup.

Unfortunately, we went from proposing an interesting new roster that would have benefitted from testing and tweaking on sunday afternoon to totally dismissing the idea by tuesday lunchtime based on a few vocal negative posts and I think that is a real shame.

(edit)
10th most popular team on FUMBBL
10th out of the 21 LRB teams isn't particularly popular btw, that puts them pretty much smack bang in the middle. I would argue that the other teams in Fumbbl like gnomes and fairys etc are irrelevant to this discussion.

Actually not a few vocal negatives ... one particulary vocal negative. JJ had originally pointed Ian Champion of PBBL. I am under orders from JJ to in a nutshell count Ian's vote as if about 50 folks had said No on this type of thing. Ian doesn't like the idea at all ... that's why by Tuesday lunchtime it was dead. For me to approve a change this radically in PBBL at this point, I need either overwhelming votes of Yes that's a good idea or strong positive votes and Ian's approval. This didn't have either.

Is there a chance that Ian and yourself could put your heads together and come up with something more acceptable? It looks like (not allowing for Doubleskulls 50 votes) there a quite a few people looking for some sort of change to the Norse team without breaking them either way.

tbh even counting Ian's votes as 50 votes it's still only 42 Yes 66 No atm. Maybe it's worth brain storming with him to see if there's a compromise that can be reached.

With FUMBBL (and yeah I realize there might be some overlap (but usually not a lot) ... its 55 Yes / 81 No for changing the Norse team.

Ian voted for Troll for the Big Guy ... so the final results of the Norse Big Guy poll was includig FUMBBL's results and Ian getting an extra 49.:
Yeti: 75
Troll: 68
Ogre: 28
Minotar: 14

Which is why I'm still discussing a Yeti type player ... but I've shelved the Norse team changes.

To be honest ... this late in the PBBL development ... I am really hesistant to change the Norse team. If I had seen more wide spread approval ... that would have been cool ... but this is one of those ideas that will just be shelved ... apologies to all who were excited. In reality ... I shouldn't have brought it all up in the first place ... so that's my mistake ... and I'm sorry.

And I need to add ... there was enough negative votes WITHOUT Ian's thoughts on this matter for me to drop it. The combined numbers between TBB and FUMBBL just aren't high enough. I was looking for a high 80% approval ... hopefully 90% to even consider this. When I saw that it wasn't getting that and then that Ian wasn't hip to the idea ... that's when I pulled the plug.

So I want to be clear here ... all likehood ... this wouldn't have happened anyway even before Ian said one word. So I'm not making him a fall guy for this at all. A change this dramatic to go into place for the Norse team needed to be done about the same time we redid the Nurgle team in order to have it go through with 70%ish support. It just didn't come up.

I realize that I need to be clear on this point ... because I don't want Ian or anyone else to read this and think I'm shouldering him for this idea being shelfed. I'm not. His thoughts were more the final nail on a casket that already had 99 nails sealing it shut.

give Norse lineman ST access would be a little nice change that would help them out long term without changing their Low TR effectiveness.

I hadn't seen the FUMBBL results. It's a shame, but it's understandable. Everyone can't have everything they want. Though I'd like to see a tested version of these stats so I can consider houseruling them in for one of our players.
