Don't understand a particular rule or just need to clarify something? This is the forum for you. With 2 of the BBRC members and the main LRB5/6 writer present at TFF, you're bound to get as good an answer as possible.
Can the Halfing Chef remove the reroll that a team gains because it has a player with Leader? Reading the rules, it sounds like it can but I just want to make sure.
I would say no, because the Leader reroll isn't there when the Chef is used (only when the player with the skill is on the pitch).
But reading the Leader description does mention that the Re-Roll is placed on the track even if the Leader isn't on the pitch, you just can't use it if he's not there...
The obvious (spirit of the Law) answer is no, but I can see an argument to say yes (so the Leader description should probably be changed to something like:
Leader (General Trait)
The player is a natural leader and inspires the rest of the team while he is on the field. Having such a player in the team allows the coach to take a Leader Re-roll counter and place it on the Re-roll track along with his Team Re-roll counters whenever the Leader is on the pitch. A team may only ever have one Leader Re-roll counter, even it has several players with this skill. The counter is used in exactly the same way as a Team Re-roll counter, and is restored in the same way at half-time. Keep in mind that the Re-roll may only be used if a player with the Leader skill is on the playing field (standing or prone) at the time the counter is used.
A leader re-roll is not a team re-roll (the decsciption of leader does make the distinction). The Master Chef description explicitly states he can steal team re-rolls.
"The counter is used in exactly the same way as a Team Re-roll counter" has caused confusion before, and now we have an extra rule to clarify that Big Guys can not use Leader rerolls either....
Galak, could you read my post (second one in the thread) concerning a small text adjustment?
I think what _might_ cause confusion/arguments is the line in the Leader skill description saying:
LRB wrote:Having such a player in the team allows the coach to take a Leader Re-roll counter at the start of the match and at halftime and place it on the Re-roll track along with his Team Re-roll counters."
Changing it without using more words (see above) wouldn't be too big an effort to clear up possible confusion?
Ahhhh ... okay now I see the confusion point. Sorry. Got it ... okay how about this for 1.11 then:
Leader (Passing)
The player is a natural leader and commands the rest of the team from the back-field as he prepares to throw the ball. A team with one or more players with the Leader skill may take a single Leader Re-roll counter and add it to their team re-rolls at the start of the game and at half time after any Master Chef rolls. The Leader re-roll is used exactly the same in every way as a normal Team re-roll with all the same restrictions. In addition, the Leader re-roll may only be used so long as at least one player with the Leader skill is on the pitch – even if they are Prone or Stunned! Re-rolls from Leader may be carried over into Overtime if not used, but the team does not receive a new Leader re-roll at the start of Overtime.
If there is to be a caveat, I would prefer it to be in the Master Chef description, rather than in the Leader skill itself. But no big deal either way.

its 5 words in the Leader skill. Its a bit more cumbersome (not a lot but more) to put it into the Master Chef text.
Just like stating the timing of the Healer in the Regeneration skill text.
