I think you might be getting confused here Cluster, no one here is saying we dont want you or your GF or the rest of the GCN at the Blood Bowl, newbies are welcome. Its the fact that you all get tickets before the BB community gets a chance to get some, that is what has really p**sed people off

Where did this info come from Joe, if you don't mind me asking, is it a reliable source? As if you throw in a few of the freebie ones they give away to people, less than half of the tickets will be on open sale to the BB communityNazgit wrote:Fully 100 of the 200 tickets are available to the GCN.

From the way the BB tournament has been squuezed into less and less space, and the reduction in amounts of BB items to buy over the last few years, I think you're probably right there Rob.hoomin_erra wrote:Want my 2 pence?
If this is what GW are doing, maybe they are doing it because:
If they offer half the tickets to GCN members (who play GFB or 40K) and BB when they(in the friendliest of terms) can, then GW gets to sell shitloads of WFB and 40K mini's on the day, instead of a few BB mini's.
Thus once again showing us they don't give a shit about the BB community, but just want to line their pockets.![]()

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

The event itself is one of the worst tournaments i ever attended. The rules are crappy every year, the results are almost never correct and the organisation is mediocre at best. Warhammer World is one of the most unconvenient places to play Blood Bowl in.cluster wrote:Why would you skip it? Just because of this ticket thing? Surely this would not stop your enjoyment of the event it'self?

The strong side of the Blood Bowl was it's sheer size and due to this it was to only tournament in the world where you could meet all your friends at one place and enjoy a very international crowd. And Bugman's Bar which is a great place (if not occupied by comedian night on Friday ... see bad organisation above).
Now you are taking away 50% of the tickets and give them exclusively to GCN members. GCN is a organisation of gaming clubs from the UK, so these 100 tickets are not available to international coaches, neither for a lot of coaches from the UK who are not a member of such a club, which are most of the people who play Blood Bowl exclusively. So basicly, GW takes away the last real reason (for me at least) to go to the BB.
Now, for GW this might be a good decision, because they remove old guys who own all Blood Bowl minis anyway and only buy a handful of Warhammer minis to clip their weapons. For me and a lot of other people on the board this is a bad decision though.

Do we believe GW are clever and callous enough to do this deliberately? Well, one of the two for sure.Tim wrote:Now, for GW this might be a good decision, because they remove old guys who own all Blood Bowl minis anyway and only buy a handful of Warhammer minis to clip their weapons. It seems the DO is the place to be to meet up with the BB fanatics now. More places available for people not in GCN gaming clubs (100 coaches there at least if EG remembers to sing up
) with room for more and probably a larger BB community contigent. Plus there's no rules about the safety of minors so even Djengiz can go
But the BB is the BB and if you play BB you need to go to the BB at least once in your life. Its the Hadj for BB players. Perhaps we should introduce the stoning of the devil there as well, with the devil represented by someone who thought it would be a good idea to piss off the international BB community.

You know what? That might be an idea. Snubb the GW staff, just sit in bugmans, play beachbowl, streetbowl, and dungeonbowl and get pissed!!Darkson wrote:Saved myself a phone call by the sounds of it.
Maybe just turn up at Bugman's for a 2-day piss up instead.
