Long term league with Rotters?

Post by mumra »

Is it possible? Being without the all-important aid of apothecaries and regenerate and also having a quite low AV can be quite disheartening.
I'm thinking of buying a Nurgle team to use in our league but the facts above leaves me undecided. What do you think?

Bought the team,

Was thinking about a starting roster like this (since the Rotter teambox comes with 9 beastmen):

9 beastmen
1 rotter
1 beast
2 rr
9 ff

Will be pretty scary first couple of games with only 2 rr's..
Think it's better to skip the beast?

I play Nurgles in our perpetual league, and it's good fun, but as you point out, you will suffer beastman casualties (Deaths, gimps, Niggles) a lot, and regenerate is chancy as well.

I started with the beast to get him to a skill ASAP (more chance of MVP's etc), and because his Tentacles are just so much better than what a Rotter brings.

Don't count on getting a free Rotter anytime soon, only Get the Ref and fouling has a marginal chance of success.

Protect your skilled beastmen, and sacrifice the gimps, this is not a chaos team, you have to be a bit more careful of your potential ball handlers.

I started with

10 Beastmen
1 Beast
3 RR
7 FF

I would ask the commissioner of your league if you could run the PBBL/Vault version of the team. They´re much better, IMO. The new rule-bits of the new version can be easily converted to LRB.
