too much wealth (luxe!)

Post by El Hombre »

Now this is a bit a question out of luxury really  .

My Dark Elf Team "Moredhel Madness" has yesterday won the local Chaos Cup. Some things worked out in my favour, so now I'm having 370.000 gps in cash...

"Problem" is, my team has already 14 good players, all positionals, 3 RR (+ the trophy one now, which makes 4), so what to do with al that money? Just letting it down in the bank just makes my TR skyrocketing (towards TR260) without actually benefits on the field. And to just give it all away on RR seems a bit dull either...

some staff & cheerleaders?

If Star Players are allowed you could hire Horkon Heartripper for 120.000. If he dies no loss to you because you got him for "free". You could also freeboot Thrud for a couple of matches. The rest of the cash I would throw away and/or keep an amount of 50.000 GP to replace expensive players more easily.

And a fourth regular reroll isn´t that bad either, the trophy reroll is not forever. And there will always be games that go into overtime and there additional RRs are really good.

an army of cheerleaders?? 37 is nice
It gives your players something to do in the dressing-room and the showers 8)

buy rerolls, say another 2.

Even if you don't always need them they will come in useful...also this will reduce your TR as they cost double their value.

You could look at retiring players that have niggles etc.

Spending on staff anc cheerleaders etc has no impact on your TR, ie it stays high but offers only limited value

I would prob buy a suicide line elf...no SPP, no Skills but use him for the dangerous crazy plays that hardly ever work and may mean death...but might just make the diff in a game at some point...

Oh and keep a bit cos if you spend it all you know your witch elf will die in the next game!!!

It is extremely scarey to play against developed Elven teams with lots of RRs. By 2-3 more. Then all those 2+'s you can do without any fear and you can make a lot more 1 dice blocks etc.

With the rest of the money I'd buy the players because sooner or later they'll die and then you'll be happy you got a rookie and slowly developed them in easy games or used them as fodder for the LOS in tough ones.

if you play in a structured league there isn't so much advantage in dropping TR, but go for 1/2 rerolls and a lineman. Make loads of easy passes so he'll be skilled in time for the next dead elf you see.

The trophy re-roll is only once per game, so you really have 3.5 re-rolls. :D

I've not coached DE, but having 1-2 more re-rolls sure would make me happier. If you use the LRB 4.0 handicap table you could lose half of them. Also evil Halflings might steal them from you.

Plus you know you will have games where four re-rolls are gone in four turns.

This is what I did ; thanks for the input!

2 more RR's, so now I have 5 (+ the trophy one)
1 player with NI retired to assistant trainership, and bought a rookie to replace him
2 more assitant trainers, bringing them to 5
5 cheerleaders, bringing them to 5
the rest I'll hold deeply in my pocket, to be able to add something special in the matches that really matter... (as I'm planning on winning the local Blood Bowl this summer with this very team... )

so now I do have 5RR, 5 ass coaches, 5 cheers, 14 players (with 3 rookies....) and a decent amount of cash.

now bring the opposition on

that all sounds quite nice. depending on how violent your league is, i might recommend a 15th player, but if you never seem to go that far down your bench, then you can probably do without.

otherwise, as you say, save it for big games when you really need a star player or team wizard to put you over the top.

Good choices. I would have gone for an additional lineelf instead of the cheerleaders and assistant coaches though.

Eventually, you will have a bunch of players killed. It's only a question of time. It is always nice to have not so rookie players available to replace them.

As I should have known, the inevitable happened:

in yesterdays match vs a human team, one of my best linies was killed, and ofcourse: no more money to replace him  . Two days ago I had way to much money, now I'm 30.000 short.

I love this game
