Strip Ball VS. Stand Firm

Post by hassan »

According to the LRB,
Strip Ball "forces any opposing player that he pushes back to drop the ball in the square that they are pushed into, even if the opposing player is not knocked over"
and Stand Firm "is never pushed back as the result of a block.
So by definition, does Stand Firm negate Strip Ball? This seems to be an overpowering element to SF, plus it doesn't seem to fit with the nature of the skill (or any other Strength skill for that matter.)
Simply, it makes no sense to me that it should work this way, but it seems that it does work this way anyhow.

3. Some skills refer to pushing a player back in order to work.
These skills will work as long as you roll a result of Pushed, Defender Stumbles, or Defender Down on the Blocking dice.
LRB page 34

So strip ball works against stand firm, the same goes for frenzy.
