Pics from the TKC3

Post by Colin »

Here are the pics from the Three Kingdoms Challenge held in Tampa Florida on March 18 and 19.

Firday night get together at a nearby pizza place.

Image
Saturday morning at the Temple Terrace Community Center.

Image
My first game was against Phil Bowen's "High" Elves, Mr. Fancy Pants and the Dirt Rock Nancy Boys. I win 3-2 on the last play of the game when an elf that just intercepts a dwarf pass falls over and injures himself while trying to dodge away with the ball. My runner scoops up the ball and walks into the endzone for the win. CAS were 2-0 for me as well.
Image
Phill was easily distracted though.

Image
First round all orc match-up with Snew's Orkchids playing Miami Gabe's Pink Hoochies.

Image
More first round action.

Image
Image
Second game was against Dio's Norse team, the Titan Phillies. won 2-1 and got 4 CAS (he didn't get any).

Image
Image
Not sure why the bad pics, but played Xtreme's skaven team, Rous and beat him 2-1 and 5-1 in CAS.

Image
The whole gang plus a couple of local kids at the bottom left who decided to get in on the pic.

Image
Image
Down in Ybor City at the Acropolis Greek restaraunt.

Image
Image
Game on! Air hockey challenge at Gamesworks.

Image
Image
Joe (Lawquoter) enjoys a stogie as others play darts at the Irish pub.

Image
A trip to Ybor wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Castle. Saturday night is quite the freak show (and I'm not talking about Snew here) :P

Image
Sunday morning and Jim (Old Man Monkey) takes a break before the tourney starts.

Image
Image
First game on Sunday is against Gabe and his Pink Hoochies (playing on the Orkchids home field). I managed a 2-2 tie (was the first to be able to score on him), wasn't able to get any CAS (though he got one on me).

Image
More Sunday morning action.

Image
Image
Lunch time we all went down to a local BBQ buffet, chicken and ribs and the beautiful Florida weather, can't get better than that.

Image
Image
My last game was against my roomie for the weekend, Sean Newboy and his Rat Bastards....I mean Skaven team, the Galley Maid Marshrats. He couldn't fail a dodge or GFI roll (at least very few and none that were critical). He one 4-1 though I beat him in CAS 3-1. My only loss for the tourney, helped vault him into second place.

Image
Gabe from Miami won the Gumpta Cup (the TKC trophy) finally bringing it back home to Florida for the first time since the tourney started (though it will take some time before the French taint is fully removed  :P :D )

Image
Sean Newboy finishes second and with most TDs

Image
Xtreme's wife Jenny finishes with most CAS (played khemri)

Image
Image
The rest of the week I spent relaxing at Busch Gardens and at Clearwater Beach. Sun, sand, and bikini clad babes, can't get better than that.

Great fun had by all and was even better this year in Tampa. Great job by Jim (OMM) to put on a fantastic tourney.

Though fewer people from "far away" turned up this time, I think it was a better tourney than last year, I think that Jim did well to move the tourney to Tampa from Orlando. Great tourney, too bad no one stuck around afterward...ah well I kept myself busy.

It was a great time. I would've love to stick around longer, but I need to save some time for another tourney or two. :D

You obviously missed the pics of the lunch at the BBQ place, there are pitchers of beer on the tables. And there was beer flowing at the lunch on saturday at the deli we went to (no pics for that). And of course there was copious alchohol consumption in Ybor (at the restaraunt, at Gamesworks, at the Irish Bar and of course, at the Castle)
Sorry Mike, I know you're trying to rationalise it to yourself that you didn't miss out on a good time since you weren't able to go, but it aint true, just ask Snew and LQ. :P

BTW, we did miss you and Rachel.

man, my liver still hurts..........

OMM, Snew and I did our very best to drain Tampa of Guinness. I got pics of some drinking, but not the notorious thursday night extravaganza.
