Fanfactor in a tournaments team?

Post by Younglord Denisar »

Hello guys.

As you can see my first post to this forum.
I have read (some parts) of the thread of creating teams. I was wondering how important are fanfactor for tournement teams. I know it's important to get income to buy new players etc when your are playimg in a competition. However I have seen some rules for tournement games that said: all players in a team are healed after the match, even the dead ones.
So no need for money in a tournament game. Or is it also important for ranking how much you earn during the games?

Since most tourneys use the "ressurection" system which means teams are reset after every match and no post-match rolls are made ff only matters for kick off rolls. So most teams will only spend leftover money at ff, while some might take a bit more. eg Norse, because of their butter armour you really don't want the other team to get the ref or halflings because you don't want your oppo to gain any rerolls from kickoff table events.

yep, max out on the position players and rerolls for tourneys. ff is great for league play, but almost completely meaningless in tourneys, excepting kickoff events. and the worst of those are rare (pitch invasion is 1 in 36 kickoffs, get the ref 2/36 or 1/18. rock and cheering fans are comparatively minor.

also most other coaches will have very little ff too, so even with 1 ff you've got a shot at both of those rolls in most cases.

It´s not very important. If you do want a little bit fan factor try Dwarves or Undead, it´s easy to fit in a fan factor of 3 and still have a good team.

Unless you play halflings with ingrediënts. Then max out the FF to 9 (should be no problem). You don't want to steal a RR with ingrediënts and then see your opponent win one with cheering fans on the KO-table!
