Hi guys, I need some advice again. I've got 130,000gold, but nothing to spend on.
Orcs
TR199 / 5 RR / Apoth
1. Blitzer - Pro, Guard
2. Blitzer - Tackle, +AG
3. Blitzer - Tackle
4. Blitzer - Mighty Blow, Guard
5. BoB - Block, Guard
6. BoB - Block, Guard
7. BoB - Stand Firm
8. BoB -
9. Troll -
10. Thrower - Accurate, Block
11. Lineorc +AG, Block, -av
12. Lineorc - Kick, Block
13. Lineorc -
14. Goblin - Block
1 Asst Coach / 0 Cheerleaders
I use players no. 1-9 with 10,11 on offense, and 12,13 on defense. The Gobbo is my wild card. I'm happy with the squad size of 14, and would prefer not to reduce BoB/Troll MVP chances.
Another thrower doesn't seem needed, with 2xAG4 in the team. And 6 rerolls are surely excessive. That leaves adding to 5/5 coaches/cheerleaders.
Or just keep the gold for a rainy day? Dumping it to reduce TR would be such a waste.
What a conundrum...

no such thing as too many rerolls...i had a wood elf team with 8 and often used every single one every half.
there's a certain amount of freedom that having 8 rr gives you, you know it's no big deal to use one in a turn for something that would otherwise be somewhat frivolous.
plus buying rerolls cuts tr. always a good thing.

My Orcs just use the simplest method to cut TR: Get your Troll killed, then get 2 blitzers killed, after that 2 Lineman and a Goblin. Then as sort of an afterthought: have your new Troll eat your last Goblin.Mootaz wrote:Throwing money away also cuts TRwesleytj wrote:plus buying rerolls cuts tr. always a good thing.
Then play an absurd few games with 8 players, of which 4 are Black Orcs with 3 or more skills

Wizards and stars. Get Nobbla. Chainsaws are fun. Get the fanatic if you feel brave, or try the bomber. Get a wizard and lighning bolt the opponents best player or fireball a big group of them. If you have the money to waste, don't spend it on useful things like rerolls, just have some fun. Buy two gobbos and turn them into a flying suicide squad of doom divers.

i don't know of any rule saying you are allowed to just "throw money away" without buying anything. otherwise, there are times when i may have considered it in the past.Mootaz wrote:Throwing money away also cuts TRwesleytj wrote:plus buying rerolls cuts tr. always a good thing.
i really don't think you can do that though.

Buy Cheerleaders and fire them immediately. This allows you to throw money away in 10.000 increments. So technically and rules wise it is not "throwing money away", but it has the same purpose and is what I meant.wesleytj wrote:i don't know of any rule saying you are allowed to just "throw money away" without buying anything. otherwise, there are times when i may have considered it in the past.Mootaz wrote:Throwing money away also cuts TRwesleytj wrote:plus buying rerolls cuts tr. always a good thing.
