Agreed, though I personally would take it on a catcher, to also aid in retrieving it from fumbling/Stripped opponents.
Well I assume you mean sprint and sure feet, not sidestep right? Either way, I wouldn't call them "wasted", it's just not what I would do. It could very well help if your opponent scores and leaves you one turn, you could use those skills to equalize.
Sidestep on it's own is plenty for one turn scoring (on turn 8 only please!), and it also helps the rest of your game.

Further thoughts with 1250:

2 Wardancers
4 Catchers
6 Linemen
Apo
3 RR
3 FF

Gets you a one man bench, an Apo, and 6 guys with Dodge.

so it comes down to woodies for most of you.
then i have think about the skill selection:

WD Strip Ball, Tackle
WD ? (Dauntless, Tackle; Side Step + Diving Tackle)
Ca Block, Sure Hands
Ca Block, Guard
Ca
Ca
Li Kick
Li Dirty Player ?
Li Guard
Li Block
Li
Li
3 RR
3 FF
Apo

or upgrade a catcher to a tree with the FF

thx for all the hints so far

i´ll give a short report next week if i were crushed or annihilated.

Tsssk... only because I failed to show up for Rendez-Vous three times in a row.... Trust me.. I'll be there this time ;)

For skills... hmmm...

I think Strip Ball is a given on a WD, DP on a liner is useful in this case, with so many skills around on other teams. I personally would give all catchers skills: Sure Hands and Sidestep twice for sure, maybe some Block. Kick, I can agree with, if only for clock control.

In general though, the teams you will have difficulty against are (C)dwarves and amazons, as they will cage and walk downfield, giving you one score, and make 2 themselves, so think on what defensive skills to take to take down a slow moving cage, or to prevent it from forming (Kick...)
