Your first High-Elf Starting-Lineup is a goodone for short leages etc. but not for 10+ because the Phoenix Warrior will take away 2 many SPP from the Lineman because of Passing and the Lion Warrior will take away the TD SPP, so it will not be good for the whole Teamimprovement starting this way on a Long-Term-Leage.

I agree. I started a High Elf team a while back with the same lineup, and it was great for the first few games but I didn't have enough skills on the line-elves after a while. Just be aware that, if you go with this lineup, you may have to make a conscious effort to try to get some of those SPPs to your linemen.

My highelf team:
1 Dragonwarrior
1 Lionwarrior
9 Lineelf
3 FF
3 RR
I get my Phoenixwarrior after the second game.
I think next time i will start with
2 Dragonwarrior
1 Lionwarrior
1 Phoenixwarrior
7 Linelf
2 RR
4 FF
because the Phoenixwarrior costs only 10000 GP more than a lineelf an you have pass.

I don't undestand this attitude.Aksho wrote:Your first High-Elf Starting-Lineup is a goodone for short leages etc. but not for 10+ because the Phoenix Warrior will take away 2 many SPP from the Lineman because of Passing and the Lion Warrior will take away the TD SPP, so it will not be good for the whole Teamimprovement starting this way on a Long-Term-Leage.

Is there a rule that only Throwers can Pass if you have one on the team?
Geoff.

I know where Geoff Watson's coming from. Passing only gives 1 SPP. It's my lineelves who get faster advances thru TDs. My Phoenix W takes ages to advance, unless he gets MVP. I take him coz for only 10k gp extra, it's like he has a reroll - on Pass of course, just like habasta said. But when it comes down to it, I use any elf to pass when I have to. He's just better at it. I've even passed with the Lion W to a lineelf just coz he's a few points short of next upgrade!
I believe in spreading the SPP and creating little 'teams' to do different things. Like 3 lineelves will get Dodge 1st before Block for LoS, at least 2 will get Block 1st for widezones, and 1 will get Kick.
Guess I'll see how my lineup will do in the coming league. So far, signed up teams include 3 human, 1 ogre, 1 vampire, 1 orc, 1 halfling, 1 lizardmen - with 1 norse, 1 skaven & 1 woodelf coming.

No kidding. Several orc lists have been posted, and none of them is anything like my orc list!stormmaster1 wrote: The best thing about orcs is that there are so many ways to start a team. No goblins or 4? BOBs or blitzers. It makes new teams more fun than for elves and the like.
I usually use 3 BOBs, 4 Blitzers, 2 Linemen, 2 Throwers, 3 RR and 2 FF (I could see 2RR and 8FF, but I think FF is overrated for cheap armor teams). In heavy-hitting leagues, I'll trade a BOB and Thrower for a Troll and Lineman: back when we could take Ogres, I always took one at the expense of a Thrower and re-roll. I buy an apothecary, a Troll, a Black Orc, maybe a goblin, then start going for freebooting Wizards and maybe a re-roll (especially if I took only 2) to burn off team rating.

You may call me crazy, but i've had considerable luck with this chaos roster:
11x Beastmen
4xRR
6xFF
Due to lack of skills, total lack of AG access and if you roll doubles mutations are generally the best choises, you tend to be lacking reroll skills suck as dodge, sure feet etc.
It is a very weak roster to start, but is very capable of winning due to the large number of rerolls. apo after first game, and first doubles take Leader. then focus on getting your CW's and big guy as needed. The 'low' FF is a bit inhibitive, but provided you are a good coach and play to win as opposed to maim, you shouldnt have too many problems.

I'm not typically a big fan of star players, but I do miss the chaos roster where you could start with lord borak. That was always a fun tr100 game.Szantharis wrote:You may call me crazy, but i've had considerable luck with this chaos roster:

Hi, I'm playing High Elf currently and am going to start a Khemri team as well, soon. The League will start new all over, so here are my two so far starting rosters:
High Elf:
7 Linemen (510k left)
3 Catchers (240k left)
1 Thrower (150k left)
3 Rerolls (0k left)
I tried it out in some test 100TR games and it seemed to work quite well, although ONE of the catchers seemed to be likely to miss the next game. But you have a decent passinggame from the start, that is not easy to stop for most opponents.
Khemri:
4 Mummies (560k left)
1 Thro-Ra (490k left)
1 Blitz-Ra (400k left)
6 Skeletons (220k left)
3 Rerolls (10k left)
10k in treasury
I find a Thro-Ra indispensable. If you have no Thro-Ra it can take ages to get the ball, which can be quite risky against dodgin AG4 Gutter Runners e.g.. Four Mummies are essential as well. Instead of taking the Blitz-Ra i could as well take one additional reroll, but Blitz-Ras are the last line of defense if some player gets by your slow mummies. The Thro-Ra with his new 6 MA is often able to assist a block and the Blitz-Ra with block succeeds more frequently in stopping the enemy ball-carrier.
However, I'm not too experienced yet and, thus, I'm interested in your opinion. I'm not quite sure, especially about the High Elf roster...
