I have found that 2 throwers one with dump off and one with hail mary is very good against Orcs. Give your blitzers leap and if you play deep and they leave space at the back then a hail mary is a good chance of a TD.

Anyway I think what Ian is trying to say is that against a good opponent hail mary pass is a very, very unreliable tactic and will most likely cost you the game.

Well expecting your opponent not to cover elves lurking deep when they've got HMP is asking them to be a bit stupid IMO.

Elves of all kinds don't need HMP. Actuate and maybe Strong Arm and they've got a great long passing game - plus a nice reliable short pass/hand off routine too.

HMP is better on slow low AG teams who struggle to move the ball quickly or get penned into their own half (e.g. stunties). It does okay on humans too since the catchers give diving catch options early on.

Yo RedVenom, long time no speak. I was only asking Ian as I could honestly not remember. I used to think that the DE's didn't need HMP too, but now I am not so convinced. A HMP when under pressure against a low AG team can work well even if their defence is covered as they may not pick up the ball and will then struggle to cover the ball carrier even if they do.

It should be seen as a "last resort" sort of tactic only. if you're willing to give up posession of the ball in order to send it to the opposite end of the field, HOPING the opponent can't pick it up, that should be seen as a desperation play.

And if you're taking skills based on desperation plays, that should tell you something about your coaching style...

I don't and I never said that they were my first picks. My DE's win lot of games so there can't be much wrong with my coaching style either.
