Travellers 2006 league season... with Humans :-)

At last more lucky in my local league at the moment

... B7 tournament wasnt so lucky: first day: 0-2-1 ... second day 0-1-2

But much more fun than with my orcs.

I just have to paint the humans a bit more. I will try in my holiday time next week.

oki... lost one FF, still FF10.

But i got some money again. 80.000 as reserve again. Buying a second thrower or waiting for another RR#4 to buy to get the TR down again ? Or should i get me a third catcher to try some different tactics ala sklaven ?

Hm ? Until now no cas or injuries...

... still got 12 players for the next game against skaven.

yep... some SPPs for the linemen, too.

Two of them got one cas each and one got the MVP.

The point I want to make is that. especially when you lead by more then 1 td (except against Skaven or Elfs) try to let your Catchers hand off to the Linos. You still get the pass SPP's to your thrower, but the Linos can earn skills as well.

On the long run you need Kick, Block and hopefully get some Guard as well. A Dirty Player can be helpful as well, and you dont want to get your positionals sent off!

dirty player can be a good catcher skill, as the 3rd/4th catchers are needed less than the first two dp can be good later on for a new catcher. They're easier to skill up than linos and easier to get to where the foul is needed.

Game 6 is over, too !

Before the game I gave one of the Blitzer with no skill Guard and the +1 MA Blitzer Tackle to hunt his Gutterrunners down.

Quite a bad game followed ... for my opponent coach and his skaventeam !

Short review :
Smeltering heat and the skaven recieved the ball.
Turn 1 ... my humans put 2 of his rats into the KO Box and 2 of his rats into the "missing this game" Box.

Turn 3... i got the ball back. I love +2 MA Blitzers

Turn 4 - 7 ... As i was in a good position and his team lost a lot players already for this half i kept hitting his rats ... including his ratogre. Two dead rats ... one was healed by his apo. One of my blitzers went missing the next game and got a niggling injury. My best blitzer was hurt and healed by my apo to keep him ready for the next game.
Turn 8 ... Finaly i scored quite late as i didnt knew, how many of his rats would come out of the KO box to try a quick TD.
Second Half:
1 of his remaining rats and 3 (!) players of my team stayed in the dugouts... btw... quite a warm weather out there here at the moment , too.
Turn 1-7 ... same procedure like first half. I got his players good pinned down, KO some more and scored at turn 7. I lost one Lineman (dead), who did his first cas first half...

Turn 8 some beating athe LOS and i withdraw all my players into my endzone... nothing to win getting a beating

The game ended 2:0 and 4:3 cas for my team. There were a lot of bad dice for my opponent coach and i didnt make great mistakes this time, too.

The FF got up to 11 again.

My +2 MA Blitzer (!) got the MVP and got another 1 / 1 dice roll !
Well, quite a choice: Stand firm, Dodge or Frenzy or ...

... not sure yet.

I got a treasury of 130k gold now. At first i wanted to buy my fourth RR. But after missing one blitzer (no skills) and one lineman (dead) next game against Chaosdwarfs with 10 players... ? I think i will buy my second thrower now or better two more lineman ?

wow... 6 games and no loss !!!

Option 1:
buy a thrower and a lineman.

Option 2:
fire the blitzer with the MNG and N injury and replace him with a new one. This lowers you TR which you maybe want as well.

The longer I think about it I would do the secound option.

Wow, Traveller, impressive!

Steam roller, anyone?

I`d fire MNG blitzer and replace it. Keeps you at eleven players (including 4 blitzers being on pitch), which will probably help you more than an additional RR. You should be able to out-AG them c-dwarves anyway.

Have their bulls got any skills so far?

Another vote for the Blitzer replacement.

After that, I'd try getting that next re-roll and, depending on whether more Linemen bite the dust, at least another Lineman as backup.

Good luck for the next match, Chaos Dwarves can be nasty.

replayce your niggled blitzer, before you buy the rr. this should help more against cd and help keeping your tr lower.

My opponent coach and his team are the leading team in terms of casualities !!!

IÂ´m not sure about replacing my blitzer. I didnt see, that he got 1 cas... so already 2 SPP. Hm ?

Maybe better to buy a lineman to get 11 players on the field ? And keep some treasury as reserve to buy a new man after the game ?

Those 2 SPP do not change much in my book. If it were 4 or 5, so he gains a skill with his next CAS, I might think again. This way though, just drop him. He is MNG anyway and has a NIG, so will contribute less to your team. And if you are lucky and he gains a CAS (go for the hobgobs!) in the upcoming game, then that is even better.

Look at it like your old blitzer healing by losing the 2 SPPs (and some money).

Seeing that your blitzers are pretty well developed, 2 SPPs should be quickly regained and a blitzer will help more against the all-block dwarves than a lino. And you might also injure that one hobgob without block on a both-down (I doubt, the cdwarf team has all three hobs with block after - what was it? - six games...).

Yesterday i played a difficult 7.game against CD.

Lost 3:1

... first game i lost of the last 7 games (!) ... but no cas on my side

After this game i didnt want to see any BB for some hours... about half of the team went KO and didnt come out of the KO Box after each TD !!!!! I played with my half team against a full CD teams with Block on nearly each Hobgoblin and/or str4 and/or Mighty Blow on the Dwarves !! Argh....

Well, it started good...
1.Half
Turn 1 ... recieving the ball my team caused one cas ( which was healed by the apo)
Turn 2 ... my catcher made his TD ... after a pick off ... quick pass .... hand off and dodge ( And all with the second skill rolls !!! I was near a heart attack !!

)
Turn 3-8 ... after KOing about half of my team the CDs scored at Turn 8. My ogre was KILLED by a foul but saved by the apo !!!

They tried it two time in a row... damm bastards !!!

2.Half
after this it turned ugly...
All (ALL (!)

) 4 Player stayed into the Box !! 7 players against a full CD team ( 2 bulls and 1 mino , CD with some ST4 and mighty blow and HobGobbos with block !

)
Turn 3 .... he scored and now just 5 (FIVE !!) player come back from my KO box !!!
Turn 3... nearly broke free with my ballcarrier catcher...but just nearly

lost the ball.
Turn 4-6... one of my blitzer managed to bring the ball carrier down.
and ...greatest action of the game ... the dauntles catcher stunned one of the bulls !!

... than i was just trying to minimise the opponent block possibilities !
Turn 7 the next TD... 3:1 and i couldnt do anything against it !!!

Well, three of my players got skills.
Dauntless catcher will get block. Lineman will get block. And The thrower will get accurate or block. IÂ´m not sure yet. better Accurate i think...

After the game i got 142.000 cash. Before the game I sold the niggling blitzer for 22.500 gold and hired a new one.

Well, next game against humans. Maybe i will buy a second thrower now or for sure a lineman. Or buy the 4 RR now ?

Nice report fella but if i was the CD player i'd have taken most of the 2nd half to score with that no of KOs etc you had
