Second skill for +AG Lineelf

Post by reservoirelves »

My Team

What do I get for the +AG lineelf? Do I get Dodge or something more interesting like Pass Block or Leap?

I have the same in my team and I thought long and hard about this. First I thought leap to take advantage of his AG5, but now I think dodge to keep him alive and to dodge around people. Why jump over them when you can go right by them? Sure there are situations where you can't doge where you want to go, but I think dodge will see more uses.

I always take dodge first for a player like that.
leap doesn't add enough advantage over dodge's protective ability to take it IMO.
Pass block, well, AG 5 would make him a great interceptor but no-one in his right mind would let him ever use the skill, I would either pass out of his range or pummel him (he lacks skills like dodge and block so that's easy to do). AG 4 pass blockers are usually enough of a deterrent, no point in making an ag 5 pb player IMO.

Yup. Dodge is probably just as good as leap to get around people and it has the added benefit of block protection.

Strip ball might be an option as this guy can dodge through a loose cage for a hit at an enemy ball carrier. However, this will be even better, if you get dodge first, strip ball later. Then think of adding wrestle. :)

So, yeah, for the moment go with dodge. :)

Pass Block would be nice, but he'll be useless against a running team and there are not many typical passing teams.

So it's better to give him "Dodge".

Actually, I would be more tempted to go with block, as he is already a very effective dodger with his AG of 5, and the tackle skill is going to nullify that dodge anyways.

For better protection, both offensive and defensive, I would go with block. Keep him alive long enough to get the dodge skill after.

i think i'd go with leap. "every elf dies, not every elf truly lives." get the most good out of him while he's around, and let the chips fall where they may.

dodge is a good second option. a 1 still fails, it's nice to have those skill rerolls...plus it makes you a little braver when trying some crazy stuff... ok the elf dodges into 2 tackle zones, picks up the ball, dodges out, passes to the ... you get the idea. :) plus it has the additional benefit of helping protect him some as well.

Dodge. It'll help him get to loose balls in tackle zones and then get away. With AG5, he's going to be moving and ballhandling more than he will be blocking, so I would wait on Block. Of course, you schooled me yesterday, so I may have no idea what I'm talking about.

Probably a little late, but I always opt for the protection with my elves. Sure all elves will eventually get smushed, but the longer you can put that off the better it is, especially early in a team's development.

Dodge is always a good choice with Elves, unless you are going up against a team that is heavy with tackle.
