****Carnage IV - Important Announcement****

Post by Indigo »

Although when Carnage was originally announced the LRB 5 was but a gleam in the eye of JJ, it has now been announced as the official ruleset.

With most/all other tournaments switching over to LRB5 I think it's only sensible to move Carnage IV over to the same.

To be clear, Carnage IV is now LRB5 not LRB4.

All other rules are the same - Pro before the tourney, skill progression and star players ARE allowed at their new LRB 5 prices.

Inducements will NOT be used, nor can you buy skills for players.

It is still TR100

The only change is in the number of the rulebook we're using ;)
Let me know if you have questions.

Im taking credit for that Steve. 8) The MSN chat started about 11am yesterday and during the day I battered, battered and battered him some more with reasons why he should change it. :P And its the right move.

Well we played a game of LRB5 the other night and kept on having to refer to the rules to check if things had changed.

We were chatting and I was saying that we were living in the past and that I would probably only play one more game with LRB4 as our league is switching to LRB5 for next season. Also the tourney scene is switching; Albion, Spikey and Brassbowl will be LRB5 for definate (not 100% about other upcoming ones) and we were both commenting on how cool the new secret weapons were and looking to the future really.

And then Dave mentioned that Lycos favoured it as well, and then I see this post...

I think it's cool. move with the times, get things up-to-date, it's all good 8) .

Your a football man Jon, So am I.

If FIFA decide to change some rules and give you a date the rules come into effect, do you think it smart to ignore that and just "do your own thing".

I am pretty sure there will be some quirks, some pain in the transition and I was all for giving 6 months etc. But having read the rules pretty hard they are fine. Tulips was great. One off games so far great.

Lets get on with it.....lets move on, not go backwards. Its here, like it or hate it, its here.... so lets play LRB5 and just get on with it.

Now THERE is a great pro-LRB 5.0 quote.

Problem is in a tournament ... not too many of the rules really changed despite what some vocal folks have said. Fouling is your biggest area of change. The roster changes only really have onpitch effects for 5 teams (ie skill or player changes) as the rest is price changes which won't effect how the team plays.

But any edge is an edge firebreather ... good luck.

Last I heard Spikey was LRB4.

Ah well, so the Newquay Open was my last chance of winning a tourney, as I''ve no way to practice LRB5 (nor do I want one) before going into a tourney.
Sorry to hear this Dave. I'll try to get the cheque in the post ASAP.

Mate... you must feel such a male chicken after winning the first LRB 5 tourney! If anyone doesnt get the joke, for months Simon has been on and on about "LRB5, hate it, its terrible, I cant use it and I can learn it". First ever LRB5 tourney....... he wins it!! :o

Nuffle is a b*stard, and I still can't/won't play LRB 5 league0-style.

But if I can win a tourney, then LRB 5 rules must be broken, right?
(See Tom, told you so. ;) )

And sorry for the (slight) thread hijack, but the Spikey Open is definetly LRB 4, I've checked with Ace.
