yes, he must GFI. Give your Wolves Block ASAP. They are huge targets and need the protection offensively and defensively. They get much more mileage out of this skill then out of strip ball/sure hands. Strip Ball is a skill for wights and sure hands for Ghouls.

So I'm curious if you felt the 2nd FG was worth the RR in your game?
Yeah, I really do! I would start the FGs on the wings with zombies. Then I would use the FG to start a series of 2d my-choice blocks down the line.

I didn't need more than 2 rerolls in either half, last game; but will eventually get a third at my leisure....

I agree with this. Block ASAP, you want to protect those 120K bullseyes by making them a bit more robust and reliable when blocking.

Though I usually prefer Block + Tackle for taking down ball carriers over Stripping the ball away (on Wights.) But that's just a personal quirk.

Sorry if I have miss something, but I have to react to the famous 'wrong' adage. I'm right with the rest of your purpose...if I do not i will read all the time what's voyagers_uk said "You have only one WW, I will kill it as many times as it regenerates...".

Wizard with death spell don't exist and if you arrive to kill the opponent's WW is just because he is beginner.

That adage isn't a BB adage, it's an old psychological one. It's been proven time and time again to hold true. You can't call it wrong just because it doesn't apply to the way you think people act.

As for Werewolves, they don't have block and they're only AV8. That's a prime foul target, it's not a beginning player who has their WW broken, the WWs are the heartbeat of the necro team. It's the beginner opponent who doesn't smash the opposing WWs into the ground and then kick them until they leave the pitch (KOs are good enough imo). It's one of the reasons why I believe in using Wights to carry the ball, Ghouls and Weres just attract unwanted attention.

I agree with Fen on the point of developing the Wights.......The guy in our league that runs necros spends all his time developing ghouls and WW, and the ghouls 1 has died, and one has 2 niggles, and now he got a rookie one back........In the meantime, he just focused on develping his WW, and they are pretty much hogging all the SPP on his team........Actually he finally got a skill up on a Wight tonight, and it was a +1 ST, there is a golem with some speed!!!!!! Just the idea of 2 WW on defense is a huge advantage with a relatively slow team, they can make up for nuffle screwing up your perfect plans with the added movement..........I personally would take the risk and take 2 FG and 2 WW in lue of 1 RR. If you get lucky and get them a MVP and a CAS, then you have your guard.......To me starting with only 1 WW on necro is similar to someone starting with only 1 bull centaur on a CD team, it doesnt make sense to me....... :?: Oh no, just opened another can of worms :D

Yes is not an adage to apply to BB and it's wrong way to plan a strategie that looks for one as target.

The target is the key player if you take 2 WW and 1 FG the target still the 2 WW. The target is the ball carrier, blitzer, catcher ... and one of anithing should not attract your attention.

If you play with 2 WW, I'm sure you arrive to protect them against foul and block because if you loose just one 1 WW in begining it's mean 120 K lost looks the value of 3 zombies and certainly you loose the game and means your plan wrong.

Protect One WW or 1 ghoul against foul or block during all the match is not so easy but with a little experience you can. Try to do it for you next match and say me if you could or not.

The problem of the discussion is not to know if in your necro team you need 1 or 2 WW, of course you need 2 is great player. If you have 2 WW you have to protect the both if you couldn't choose FG.

Looks for better adage like "One of anithing is your best choice for a flexible game"

I think this discussion is now officially a waste of time, so I'm not going to bother with it any more.

The ideal startup depends on the other teams in the league. I started with a 2 wolf/2 wight/2 ghoul 3RR setup, because in our league we have 2 orc, a dwarf, a lizard and a human team. in this environment i prefered speed over str, because the other teams are better in bashing (and two golems can't help it). With two str3 frenzy player without block the 3 RR is very good to avoid block turnovers.
One wolf is easier to handle, but two wolves are a must. They are the best players in the team, and if they are targeted too much, you can use it as an advantage. (and claw, frenzy, blablala, everyone knows how good these doggies are :D)

it is all about perspective Fen, you and I are both thinking of how the opponent would rip our teams apart and Vincekiller is looking at his won strategy - sort of like a tourist driving in Bangalore, you worry about the other guy and vincekiller just worries how to get his own car from a to b

different strokes for different folks.

I would still kill any 0-1 player choice that was dangerous to me...

I understand what you mean voyagers_uk, I know exactly where vincekiller was coming from, I understand his point and I can see his reasoning, but I can also see he's not interpreting what I'm talking about in the same manner that I intend it.

So there was no point in continuing because there was nothing productive left to discuss. I'd just get even more exasperated until I say something uncalled for.

What skills should I give ?

Post by Genghis Khan »

Hi everyone, i'm new at BB and was thrown in a tournament of about 40 players which is a big event. By reading all your posts, I admit I have learned some.

My team :

2 Werewolves
2 Wights
2 Flesh Golems
6 Zombies
2 Rerolls
2 Fanfactor

Before starting the tournament, we are allowed up to 2 skills. I have decided to give my werewolves block because if I roll a block on the die, I don't need to follow up in an unwanted tacle zone because of frenzy.
I don't seem the type to play offensive, like doging out. I tend to have a hard time coming up with stratagies.
If you were to give 2 skills to my team,
-What would you give as a skill?
-Who would you give it too?
-How would you use the team of what stratagies would you play out?

Again, thank you for so much helpful info. :)

Regards

Hi and welcome to the boards

I think block is an excellent choice, but I don't see any ghouls in your list? Instant blodgers are a nice thing to have so I would probably have gone with a ghoul or two.

block to the wolves. without block and with frenzy they'll burn the rerolls when attacking, and block helps them to livle longer.

like "I know a woman who smells of haddock" or "my typing is bad as leprosy has taken my fingers and I have to use a pen from my mouth"

uncalled for and yet not personally directed.

I think attacks are a thing of the past on this board, some random nonsense serves it's purpose just as well.
