I'll go with my planned starting lineup then. Thanks.

I can see my opponents swearing already. :D

Galak
Well then it is just like the Warhammer Dark Elf Assassin then in the army.

It's funny how much people will avoid charging a unit if they have reason to suspect there's an assassin in there that will pop out and kill their hero or whatever...making that unit much more effective. It's kinda funny sometimes. I always put assassin figures to the side of the table when I play warhammer, and I always make sure my opponent notices them too. They actually make the list about 1/2 the time. :P

Just to throw a thought in to the ring..why not take a witch instead of the assassin on the grounds of speed? For a starting team it may be best to go for the fastest team you can afford to bulid up the rolls, earn money and then buy an assassin. For that reason another blitzer might also be a better starting option.

Getting a Witch or additional blitzer would mean trading one or more runners/blitzers for lineelves, wouldn't it? I thought of trading the assassin and a blitzer for a Witch and lineelf (see one of my earlier replies), which may be a good idea. But speed wise, it makes no difference.

The more I think of it, the more I like having 3 Blitzers on the starting lineup.

And for the league composition, it looks like if I will be playing against Skaven, Nurgle, probably Lizardmen, and the other team I don't know yet. So I think that the Assassin will come-in handy against the GRs and Skinks. But I have to admit that the Witch would also be useful against GRs and Skinks.

Thanks for the idea.

Or, just as another option, you could get rid of the assassin and the lineman, get a witch and have some assisstant coaches. Means starting with 10 though. Probably best to go with the assassin and 3 blitzers. A witch would be good against some of those teams though.

NARYK! Thank you for playing.

You have to start a roster with 11 on-roster players.

Mighty blow won't work with stab (See LRB5).
So on doubles I would choose Multiblock

On doubles, I think I'd probably take Guard, seeing as if they fail, they end up standing next to someone. Having tried Horkon (against AV7 to), I think the Multi block/Stab combo is feared to highly.

Yeah, I haven't had the stab work for me yet with my assassin. It has only been 2 games, but one of them was against halflings, which should count for about 5. The other was against High Elves, so not terribly shocking that he couldn't get through AV8. He has successfully shadowed twice in those 2 games, once against a high elf catcher, which was nice. But I haven't broken armor with a stab once. I didn't attempt every turn, many turns I had no-one standing next to him and didn't use him to blitz. But there were still plenty of times when he DID try, with no success.

I am a lucky man. Still, he does have a skill due to a completion and MVP, so now he has sidestep, which should make him slightly more annoying. Next I'll probably go with dodge or tackle, unless i get doubles or an upgrade.

I think I'd take Stand Firm. To increase the amount they get to stand next to players. Then take Multiple Block after that. Then you can tack Block and Dodge onto the whole lot. Stand Firm also has some synergy with Shadowing in that you can't push the player away by blocking, so you either have Blitz, Block and break AV or Dodge and beat the shadowing roll.

Block, Dodge, Multiple Block, Shadowing, Stab, Stand Firm

Looks good to me (if the assassin survives that long )
