Nerves Of Steel

Post by Grumbledook »

Can you use NOS to negate the -1 for tackle zones when trying to catch an interception? If you can this will make bassblock great combo with catch as well. Move into the catchers tz, reroll to catch the interception without the -1 for tz and then if that fails you put -1 on the catchers catch and also force a dodge.

I play it that anything you can use the Catch skill or Pass skill on, then you can apply Nerves of Steel to. This includes intercepting, Dump off, and Throw team mate.

Nice idea BTW. I hadn't figured out where to take my pass blocking blitzer next. NoS seems like a great next step.

Interesting, very interesting. Have no idea if that is legal, but I like the idea.

According to the wording of the skill it works for all passes and all catches. So it will work for dump offs and interceptions.

Yeh that would work Grumble
You move the pass block as soon as the pass is declared, you then get into the position for the intercept...yada yada yada,
seems fair enough to me. Now I wait for somebody to come along and tell me that its wrong

This is why I have asked, I can't see why it wouldn't work ;]

So you asked a question you already knew an answer too?
How cool 8)
Put this combo on a tree man . Then ask how far can a tree move on a pass block:)

Well done Zy-Nox.... now we have 2 questions waiting for answer....

But since in the skill just says that the player moves 3 squares, and don't mention "if in his MA".... I guess yes, a tree could move 3....
Is this in Galak's hot-list?!?!?!

NOS can definitely be used on interception catches and dump off passes/catches.

This is not on the Hot List.

My opinion: Treeman can move 3 squares with Pass Block.

This is on the Hot List.

If NoS can be used on Interceptions (because they're Catches), can Catch as well?

Yes. I had asked this question before in another thread and it was pointed out that it says so under the discription of the catch skill. I guess it pays to read the rulebook more than a couple of times. Actually, INTs happen so rarely, it's not surprising people forget about this rule.

 Why so it is there. Awesome. I'll have to pull that out next time I try to intercept.

Fantastic idea!

I had never thought of this combo. My two defensive Lion Wrriors are getting NofS now.
