Stand Firm and chain push

Post by Podfrey »

Stand Firm (Strength)
A player with this skill may choose to not be pushed back as the result of
a block. He may choose to ignore being pushed by ‘Pushed’ results, and
to have 'Knock-down' results knock the player down in the square where
he started. If a player is pushed back into a player with using Stand Firm
then neither player moves.

Ignoring the obvious "...with using Stand Firm..." that makes no sense, what happens if all 3 normal push back spaces are occupied when pushing a non-SF player back? Can the attacking player choose the SF players' square to push the non-SF player into?

If he does, he doesn't move and you're done. Hit him again with the next guy. :pissed:

Just like Snew said ... yes you can pick that square and then the pushback is cancelled.

Does the player with Stand Firm (that has the player pushed into them) have the choice to decline to use Stand Firm and also get pushed?

You can always choose not to use Stand Firm whether you are the one originally hit or one in the chain being pushed.

Upgrade of the Question:

The Stand firm player is a treeman with take root.

In the rules it is said that a tree cannot use a skill wich would allow him to been moved.

So I push a player on the tree. The tree doesnt use stand firm , even if he is taken root, and then the tree can be pushed?

Although it doesn't say it ... that should in that case say "cannot use or choose not use a skill which would allow him to be moved"

However the FAQs that would generate from folks not understanding the "choose not to use" would be huge ... but it is in there.

So don't say "choose not to use". Just state that they CANNOT be used. It's no choice or option. Don't even think about arguing it. The thing is rooted. He's not going anywhere! What don't you understand about that you beardy git?

Beardy? I play dwarfs. :D :D :D

Well thanks Galak for the answer. It is all just to make things clear as my brother likes chainpushes a lot. Always with his tree as a part of it. No easier way than to get something big into the cage.

How I'd love to put that at the end of the description in the rulebook.
