Please calm down.
The whole Idea is to get away from a Team II.

The First EB was won by france II and so there where two french teams at the EB 2004 in Germany. Giving Italy a second team is too much, as it gave them like France and Holland in the past a second chance.

So to repeat it, no second teams.

The All Star Team is not against the concept of the Eurobowl. It is a Team formed by the very idea of the European Union. Unity in diversity.
We all share the desire too win and plunder.

And so what if they will win!? Threat them like France II and the next Country in Line (Germany) will host it.
If we got next year Team Portugal then they will not play again. If Scotland didnt play this year they will not play at all! And by talking about second teams, some people already see team Scotland as England II. I didnt see this as a Problem.

The freebooter Team is a chance for the "rejected" to play at the EB and show their team Captains that they have the potential. Then why shouldn't they been alowed to play not for their own countries in the future?

I dont wanna make the Freebooter team a fix team for the future.
Italy can make two additional teams if they would like, but that is not the point. This Team will not be a "free" ticket for its opponents, and it is not a bunsh of unliked peoples.

@Necromancer: The Number you will wear will be the Number you have on page 1 of this Thread. :roll:

@l_dauguet: After looking at the T-shirt sizes they seem to be big players. :)

:?: :pissed: :pissed: DON'T EVEN GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :pissed:

Scotland is Scotland, and England is England. If England had first joined as "United Kingdom", then yes there would be no team scotland.

And if Scotland win, believe me, the next EB will NOT be held south of the border.

Glorian, this is not against you personally, but just a shout to let anyone else who thinks of Scotland as England II know, that they are SOOOOO wrong. If England and Scotland meet, i think you will find the competition and rivalry will be the same if not stronger between us.

I know I know. :P

The point I want to make clear is that a second team for a country isnt liked that much.

The whole point of Eurobowl is representing YOUR country. I have no problem with freebooters helping out teams who can only get 5 or six players as that is in the spirit of the the tourney to allow these team with a small BB community to take part. A Freebooter team takes away from that.

If the B team where to win then let the second place team host the following year. I think a B team is reward for the A team winning in the first place.

I agree with Hangus. Freebooters should be individuals playing for nations who cannot field a full squad of 8 players, NOT making up a team of their own because they can't get a spot on their own team. If an individual nation has more interested players than places on the team they should

a) adopt the French attitude and have players rotate through the squad
b) sort out who is coming amongst themselves

Players who want to come to participate in the atmosphere and play games against European coaches should do that, and play in the side tournament if they can't play for their nation. There is no shame in that. We need more coaches to come and do that, to come along to the tournament to support their nation and play their own games. That would make the Eurobowl a true "diverse and varied" tournament but instead the freebooter team means that 8 players who would otherwise be playing in the side tournament are not available.

Sorry, I just don't like the idea of a freebooter TEAM at all. Freebooters, yes, a full team, no.

Maybe, if people think we absolutely MUST have a freebooter team instead of inviting freebooters to play in the side tournament, we should randomise who is playing for the freebooter team each round? Then more people may come along to participate.

What happens if the freebooters win? Who has won Eurobowl? Europe?!? That's stupid.

Who will the 3 Italians be?
Ok
Confirmed
Me -> Dark Elf
Lord lemon -> Dwarf
Frankie -> Chaos Dwarf

I suggest :
Teg -> Undead
Necromancer -> Norse (do you have played norse in LRB 5 ?)
festen -> Skaven ?( :P I hope you make better than your NAF ranking 3/0/8 :puke: )

Orc is a basic team, easy to play and competitive...
Left may be Wood Elf or Khemri!!
What would like play the 2 other italian player??

We looks a fine team. :smoking:

Ok, ok, I see we are a problem.
I was very happy to have the opportunity to play in this great event, but if we are not welcome so we can play in the side tournament with the odd nation (extract at random?)
Maybe we can face each other in the side tournament :wink: no shame in this

I agree ;) I prefer to play Undead, a good race for bad players! :P
Festen is a good person so he likes to let his opponent to win, but at Eurobowl he will do a great job! I'm sure of this ;)

The other italians will play (most probably) Humans and Wood Elf

But our Captain Underhill will have the last word about races :smoking:

Surely Teg you would prefer to play for Italy B.

We are not getting at Glorain or the rest of the freebooter who are going just the concept of the team as it takes away from the honour of playing for your country.

Please don't take offence. I really do think Eurobowl should be a huge event where coaches attend - in some ways the side tournament should be bigger and more important than the "Eurobowl" part itself.

I think it's really good that so many people want to come when they don't have a "team" place, it makes it even more unique. No other European tournament can quite offer the sheer number of countries and players that Eurobowl can. I just think we need to work on the details of the European Individual tournament as much as we have the Team tournament.

I think if we structure the side tournament to be Eurobowl Individual tournament as a compliment to the Eurobowl Team tournament then it will have even more appeal. Rather than think of it as a side tournament we can make it an event in it's own right.

I know the freebooter team is a great threat!! 8)

I don't know who is Olaf, but certainly you like a nice guy... :roll: lol

Same as Teg, but i think beepe is the organiser of the tournament if you have some complaints you could send him a email. No ?

Please here, we speak about tactics!

My country discarded me, so I'll not play for my country :cry:
There is no honor to play in a "B" nation, but as pirate I can have fun and show to Farina that I'm good as many other coaches in Team Italia :wink:

No offence, this is only a puppets game :wink:
I agree, the Eurobowl (single player) Tournament must be more relevant, but every nation that has 8 player to field for me has the right to play in the Eurobowl Team Tournament.
But if the number of nations is odd we had to provide a team to let every nation to play

Or better still play in an individual tournament, win glory for Italy that way if it's what you really want, and stop a freebooter team making a mockery of the EB idea :(
