Leap

Post by dwarfrunner »

I may have misread this, but in LRB5 it thought it said you can use a skill multiple times now. Does that mean a player can leap more than once?

A skill may be used multiple times unless otherwise stated in the description.
A player with the Leap skill is allowed to jump to any empty square within
2 squares even if it requires jumping over a player from either team.
Making a leap costs the player two squares of movement. In order to
make the leap, move the player to any empty square 1 to 2 squares from
their current square and then make an Agility roll for the player. No
modifiers apply to this D6 roll unless he has Very Long Legs. The player
does not have to dodge to leave the square he starts in. If the player
successfully makes the D6 roll then they make a perfect jump and may
carry on moving. If the player fails the Agility roll then he is Knocked
Down in the square that he was leaping to, and the opposing coach
makes an Armour roll to see if he was injured. A failed leap causes a
turnover, and the moving team’s turn ends immediately. A player may
only use the Leap skill once per Action.

hi,
I have a question about Leap, too:
If a player succesfully leaps directly onto the ball - what happens?
Is he immediately picking up the ball or the ball bounces?

thx for replies, Juggernaut

Iirc, voluntary movement requires an attempt to pick up the ball (unless you absolutely can't; no hands, etc.).... If you are pushed into the square involuntarily (block, chain push, etc.) then the ball scatters....

If you leap onto the ball you can (and must) try to pick it up.

What happens if you have side-step and choose to be pushed to the space sith ball in it; can you pick it up then?

You must attempt pick up the ball if your player enters the square with the ball while taking his action (move/blitz/hand off/pass) a leaping player is taking his action. In any other case (e.g. pushback regardless of sidestep) the ball scatters.

But what if I've been turned to stone and it's really my spirit that's on the ball? Can it give a -1 to the pick-up roll? Are tackle zones directly related to voting powers?
