Boo!!! Bad news. And so late in the day. I don't know how THREE people can do this (one I could have understood, work, family, etc, possibly two, but three?). Myself, I'm climbing the frikkin' walls here counting down the hours!

Will be good to see you there and will get the goss off you then.

As Longshot said when you dont have that many players it can really hit you. If England had three dropouts it wouldnt be a problem as you have numerous options

believe me Valen ,it is still a problem so close to the tourny but yes in the number of possible coaches, we can try our luck and find one in the last minute

Not really. The cost of getting to Italy from England = flying, which is not cheap so close to the time. To be honest I'm a little surprised by the Scot drop outs as flights, etc, will already have been booked.

You're suprised. Like Hoomin and Evit Git, I found out about this last night.

The missus is completely peeved at the three that let Team Scotland down as, in her words, "This is not the holiday I would have chosen given the choice but since you are wanting to go...."

I think Valen et all should keep their heads down for a while cause my missus is not one to peeve off.

I can't see a point why a Freebooterteam should also be allowed if the team number is odd...

There are more than 8 teams and 6 games are played. So each team won't play at least once vs another country.....

Sorry Kithor, I can't understand you.
You mean that the EB can be played also in an odd number of teams?
But in this way some team have to BYE one round, and apart from get boring instead of playing, they will play only 5 matches...

Or I don't understand what you mean, or this is not a good idea, actually... :o :o :o

it should be possible, only it means that you don't have the international clashes like now. Should there be 13 teams for example each team could have 4 players play a nation each round. Double that for the 8 players and each country will have played each other country once, albeit with just four matches not 8. There msut be other solutions for different amounts of teams.

Is it an idea to create a freebooter team with the scottish, grotuk and some of the freebooter team AND an Italy II team? (with the italian guys from the freebooter team, Vincekiller could go to france etc etc.)

that way the tickets bought won't be lost and, despite the loss of team Scotland, there'd still be 12 teams attending.

do not fear we're doing all we can to sort this out but we are trying to have a team with more scots in it than pirates.

Dave, this is exactly our second option!

I know many people could not agree with this situation, that could allow 2 strange teams to play (freebooters + Italy 2), but this is an extraordinary case just to allow especially the Scots who didn't drop out to play.

Anyway, I'm still crossing my finger for a pure (ehm... almost) Scottish Team to come!!!
