These are grim news. :(

I had put some time in this Freebooter team building. To my knowledge the T-shirts are in the printing stage so we have very likely a set of trikots for a team that wouldnt play.

I will try to contact everyone who doesnt look into the forums due their team captains.

Im happy for all those who will have found another Option to play like Vincekiller and very sorry for all those who cannot. It is a very mixed feeling as I will surely play for Belgium.

The scotish team. A running gag which doens't get funnier each year. :-?
Hoomin is not to blame as he always was with full entusiasm at the same idea as myself to get a decent team running.

The UMPF key bands are cut short to 8 in total. 2 are reserved the last 6 will go for the willing people and other Freebooters if liked.

It is a said day as we will have 2 teams not playing.

So im asking in all seriousness that the organizers will put up a decent side-kick tournament. make it a 4 Game Tourney. Most likely you will have up to 12 Players. 7 From the Freebooter team, 1 Austrian, 2 or 3 scots. Give it a name, make the first place a medal and everything will be fine.

The Scots are trying to fill the ranks with anyone the least scotish so the chances are slim to not existing. Prepare men that Team Freebooter is dead if not a wonder ocours. Deliver your souls to nuffl as he is the one and the six. Either he will make it happen or no one.

sorry Glorian but you knew this team was only to make odd number.

I think you took a lot of time to build this and Organisators surely thanks you for that.

nothing personal of course, but i prefer a Eurobowl without a freebooter team and minimal freebooters as possible.

You ll have fun anyway ;)

no, I genuinely feel sorry for these guys, I for one REALLY wanted to see a team Scotland so I could laugh at them in their silly stripey skirts!! I would NEVER wear one of those

I always had reservations about a Freebooter team, but my criticism would be towards the organiser(s) for supporting it (sorry Luca ) and not at the guys who agreed to join it..

I am hopeful that these people will still turn up, still play BB and still get drunk with me afterwards, I just don't think they should be part of the team event...

anyway, just one guy's opinion and nothing more than that.. 8)

Topper, you know that the Freebooter team is here to solve a problem...
Not to create one !

I respect Glorian for all the time he has organised it!

Now, the money is not only the right answer, but this is a piece of advice why, Norse , some others, and I, would have prefer a second Italian Team ! Does it make sense to people now? Ho yeah.

Asking an other tourny to the organisators is a job they may be not though about and short in time.

The things were clear from the beginning: Eurobowl (freebooter are here just in case)

Now you turn it completely different?
I know this is time and money and people and so but ..Side tourny could be great... short in time? how many players? lot of job and not enough data i guess.

Putting new responsabilities to the organisors is not in my mind
Paying 400Euros to attend a nation tourny were people are selected... is not a way to be selected.

And i didnt forgot that by including Vince in the French team cos of the freebooter collapse.

Np Ramz, as I told you we're here to grow up all togheter.
I will explain you better on private, what I can tell you is that we took the idea from last year Eurobowl Rookie Tryouts!!!

Our error (yes, I admit when I make one), was to organize the spare team before, too much in advance.
We should have wait 'til the day of the EB and make the freebooter team with all those who where there in that day . Those who come just to join the party and that can have the opportunity so to play... I was conditioned from the "romantic" idea that people of the freeboter team was kind of people that came anyway, no matter if for playing or not (that is what I will do next year...)

Hope I was clear, anyway we'll have plenty of time to talk about it in Riolo...

We will sort something out ourselves. Not hard to make a tourney.

Scotts vs Pirates hehe :)

There is still the chance that they will make a scotish team.
Morgot is in it and I think they have hired Sean Connery too. Or at least the new Bond. He is blond but that doens't stop others from playing Blood Bowl.

Glad to hear that Norse.
I also agree with you guys (Norse and Longshot) that from a purely organizotorial point of view, it would be better with a country 2.
However I still believe that is even more against the idea of EB.
Just as I agree that the freebooter team is here to solve a problem, not create one.
In my personal view of point I still believe a few ppl let down alot, both from their own team but also from the freebooters.

I think that choosing the "odd team" whether it is "country 2" or a freebooter team in the last minutes provides one danger - the fact that it´s never made due to lack of attendees and instead one team has to pass each round.

Maybe a deadline to attend (a month before?) would solve the problem?
But could also be a tad too much, donno?

Finally just so nobody misunderstands my previous post - what it meant was that they had been led down - I just used a "figuratively speaking" method to make it show better.
I don´t know if we do this more in DK than in other countries, but no offending was meant.

Let´s just have a super EB - hopefully with both the Scotch and the freebooters.

Over and out - Topper 8)

no offence meant, no offence taken ;)

About the Deadline, we all (organisators) know that deadline is sadly not a solution in the BB wolrd ;) We deal with it as we can.

Swiss should have done a team to clear the problem or Portuguese :D
but not both :pissed: (even number again...)

GLORIAN!!! Please just hang on for a couple of hours. I genuinely think that the possible Scottish exit has been averted as two of the three people have been "persuaded" to go. And with Margot McMillan taking the place of the only drop out, we're all good to go. If so then the European All Stars are still needed. In the immortal words of Dad's Army - "Don't panic Mr Mannering" ;-)
