Dodging and Agility

Post by jonbeav »

Noob here...
Okay, so I started making new reference sheets for the updated rules.
And I was working on the Orc team. A Black Orc Blocker has an agility of 2. And on the current reference chart, it says he needs a roll of 3 or more to dodge. Shouldn't it be 4 or more?
I got a bit confused so I want to make sure.
Thanks ahead of time!

When making a dodge, you add one to your die roll to determine if you succeed or not.

So, Agility 2 = 4, +1 on the die means you succeed if you roll a 3+
It appears this +1 was built into the dodge table you were referencing since everyone gets it when they dodge.

Technically, you still need a 4+ to succeed. But if you roll a 3 and add 1, that is 4, so many, many people modify the target number you need on the die as a sort of short cut.

Say your BOB was dodging into 2 TZ's as well. You need a 4+. Roll the die, add one for dodging and then subtract 2 for the two TZ's. Instead of doing the math after the die is rolled (I rolled a 5+1-2=4 Success), most people do modify the target number (which means additions become subtractions and visa versa). so the Orc dodging into 2 TZ's needs a
4-1+2=5+ on the die to succeed.

So, in terms of creating a shortcut target, not including the -1 for tackle zone dodging to, but including the +1 dodge modifier...

Agility = 2, need a 4 or more to dodge
Agility = 3, need a 3 or more to dodge
Agility = 4, need a 2 or more to dodge

Correct?
