Goblin Bombardier skills

Post by Geoff Watson »

Is the Bombardier supposed to only have Agility skill access?
All of the skills that are useful for bombing are in the Passing category.

You'll find some discussion at this url:

I'm glad you expressed similar feelings on the bomber as it might (one snowball's chance in an oven perhaps) be discussed for the next rules update.... we gobbo fans can only hope....

Do players get SPPs for Interceptions or Completions with Bombs?

The SPP rules specify the ball, but the Bomb rules mention that it uses the same rules as throwing the ball.

Nope, using the same rules as throwing the ball doesn't mean the bomb becomes the ball.

(Unless the Chaos All-Stars are playing, but that's something completely different.;) )

The main problem with passing skills and bombs seems to be hail mary pass.

Wouldn't the sensible solution be to give the bomber P access, but make a rule in HMP that says it can't be used to throw bombs? I mean I agree that bombers with HMP are a bit retarded, but that doesnt mean we have to mess up his skill selection altogether does it?

The current solution seems a bit silly anyway, because 1in6 skills on goblin bombers are still going to be HMP.

and you can always pass the bomb to a player with HMP. Nice team work there in my opinion.

So with just Agility skills, what would be useful to a Bomber?
It's unlikely they'll get a skill soon, since they need two MVPs, which are the only way they can get SPP.

Can they use Jump Up to stand up and throw a bomb?

You can get them through Casualties. In fact the bomber on my old Goblin team managed 2 CAS.

No

As for what's useful on a non-doubles. Side Step and Diving Tackle. But if you get to 16 SPPs without a doubles, get a new Bomber.
