Diving Catch in tackle zone question

Post by datalorex »

Okay. I throw a ball one square short of a catcher on purpose because he has diving catch. The Catcher has a defender in front of him on the opposite side of the ball so that it looks like this

B
C
D

B=Square where ball lands accurately
C= Catcher
D= Defending player

Do I get a -1 modifier on the catch if the defender is not have a tackle zone where the ball lands?

he can catch the ball "as if" it landed in his own square, but the skill description explicitly says that the player with Diving Catch never leaves his own square. I would say that even though your player is allowed to try and catch the ball, yes he still has to deal with the -1 modifier from the tacklezone being imposed by the defender.

You're still int the TZ so you still get the -1.
