Dwarf starting team
Hi
How you guys think I will do in AnBBL (tabletop LRB5 league) with this team :http://www.anarchy.bloodbowlleague.com/ ... p=tm&t=kad ?
1 slayer
1 blitzer
2 runners
6 blockers
1 death roller
2 RR
1 FF (must have at least 1)
I've not used my converted deathroller yet, and I want to.. I'm thinkin its easier to get the money for extra slayer and blitzer in separate turns, than to get the whole 160K for the roller..
In Speed Boosta Cup (opening cup of AnBBL 2007) we all start from scratch, and we may advance on TD Ties by killing the most, then by CAS..
Can i manage to hold the 0, and win on CAS'es ?

I know the allure of the Death Roller is tempting, but it's probably not the best idea for team that's just started. For one thing, you're likely to lose it early if you're forced to kickoff and then you'll play the rest of the game a man down.
It may not be revolutionary, but starting with 2 slayers and 2 blitzers rather than a DR is probably safest and the best choice for coping with various opponent races.

Yes, I would wait on the deathroller also. Even with 12 players the deathroller can be a liability. I would get the blitzer and the troll slayer as stated before, plus i would have at least 3 RR to start. Dwarves throw a lot of blocks and are average at handling the ball, so you will probably need more than 2 RR.
I almost bought my DR as my 12th player. I started out saving for it, and decided i wanted a another blocker instead and get the DR as 13th or 14th player. Im glad I went this direction.
I had a situation the first game with the new blocker. I played against an orc team. So I played my 11 guys with one sub. The orc team scored on turn 7 of 1st half. During the drive, one of my slayers got BH, so I was down to 11. If i had bought the DR, it would have been forced out onto the field for 1 turn, then halftime and that would have been it.
I generally set the DR out there when I have the ball because I have more control of it being out there for a decent ammount of time. It adds a ton of TV to your team, so you might as well get your use out of it if you have it. It works better with a more developed dwarf team. And besides, you want to start with both blitzers. You want all your AG3 guys on a starting dwarf squad.
Also the slayers because they can help handle the ST4 opponents and opposing Big Guys with their Dauntless/Frenzy combo. When you start getting some Guard on the blockers, this wont be as big of a deal. With a new team, the 2 slayers really help out. I have a Khemri team and an Orc team in our league, and the slayers really helped me out with them.

Is this a league rule? LRB5 remved the requirement to have at least 1 FF at the startRik a Kadrin Kazad wrote:Hi

I'd advise against it, but if you have your heart set on a DR from the start, then drop one blocker and the FF and add a Blitzer.I've not used my converted deathroller yet, and I want to.. I'm thinkin its easier to get the money for extra slayer and blitzer in separate turns, than to get the whole 160K for the roller..
otherwise, go with a more standard dwarf start..
2xblitxer
2xslayer
2xrunner
5xblocker
3xrr
1xFF,1xCL, 1xAC

Thanks for all the advice guys, and for enlighten me on the LRB5 FF rules
The dwarves don't have to be liked by anyone, do they
My heart is set (didn't get to use it in season 2006 either), but I've found a workaround. We're playin some practise games this weekend, so I'll bring my deathroller list with blitxer instead of blocker to that.
Then I'll go for the standard list (only 2 FF instead of 1 CL, lack the model) for the "Speed Boosta Cup" that opens AnBBL 2007
So my starting list AnBBL 07 will be:
2 blitzers
2 slayer
2 runners
5 blockers
3 rerolls
2 FF
1 AC
With 2 FF hopefully the dice will be in my favour when making out the fame => 10 000 extra money after the game
As you say about the slayers helping against mummies etc, that'll be a good idea.. There is an Undead team in our league..
But the main opponents are CD, Norse and Skaven.. so to wals over the CD bull centaur or them little rats would be perfect.. I see the liability threath to the DR though.. And with it beein the 11th player, I HAVE to put it on the field from the start, no matter who's kickin.. hmm..
Ok, so for the dwarf playbook. Anyone have a link for that ? how to set up on defence and offence to get the easiest caging..

I am sure there is something on this site, but I have a hard time using the search engine.....
Here is a link with some playbooks on it, dont know how current they are as far as jiving with the LRB5 rules, but the basic strategies should help you out.....
