Block or Wrestle on (Dark) Elves?
Hello all,
I was wondering what experiences people have had on picking block or wrestle for elves.
I tend to play a lot more bashy teams than agility teams with my delves, so tend to lean toward getting wrestle-take their slow blockers down then dodge (if necessary) away.
I've just gotten my first skill for a witch-eventually decided to go for block, although i'm not sure if this is wise. I know that downed witches are a fouling target, but I think that the fouling rules have been nerfed so much that fouling is generally pretty redundant (at least I always seem to get more players SO than cause KOs or CASs), and anyway my league isn't too boot happy. And with jump up and dodge, wrestle seems a good choice.
I've now got 2 linemen with wrestle-should they be on the LOS, or back a bit so that they can go on to disrupt a cage?
Block is a great skill, but with the agility and movement of elves, is wrestle a better choice for them?

If your league looks down on the Boot, then they're just pantywaists.
But your wrestle guys should be safe enough
,I just rather have my guys standing on their little pewter feet, so I would take block.
I won't put the 2 wrestle linos on the LOS though, have them back up each one of your W. Elves in the wings. That way they can use wrestle to open up a whole for your Witches to go blitzing through.
If you are gonna use wrestle keep it on the linos, so if your opponent does decide to strap up his boots and do some fouling, your not losing one of your positionals

Mmm, thinking about it, i reckon wrestle is the better defensive skill-you get hit, wrestle them to the ground. Your turn, get up and move away, possibly marking their prone player with an assassin.
On my turn, block or blitz with a player with block by preference, so the same can't be done to me.
But then that begs the question, who should I develop as a ball carrier sacker? I think a player with block and wrestle is a waste of a skill, so that really only leaves the other witch with wrestle, strip ball and leap? Or should it be a blitzer with strip ball and leap and tackle (juggernaut if he rolls a double)? Or both by preference........?

I tend to play them agile bashy (I guess)-at least a generally cage up and as long as the cage is moving and secure, I'm happy. I don't wanna get into slugfests, aren't too bothered about causing CASs, and should hopefully have enough speed and agility to keep things moving.
A full delf team should have 4 blitzers, 2 witches, an assassin/runner or 2, so that doesn't leave many spaces for linemen. Therefore i think i'll give wrestle to linos by default.

Wrestle and tackle also combine well to get those pesky blodgers down.

When I play agile bashy I play very aggressively (hurt the opposition) but dance around anything that can hurt me.
Then you're not really playing bashy at all eh?I tend to play them agile bashy (I guess)...
