Tournament awards

Post by The Ref »

Hi

We're having a Speed Boosta Cup that will award a random player on the winning team a trophy (dwarf engineered speed boost boots) wich I'm thinkin gives the player a permanent +1 MA.

Any other ways a pair of speed boost boots could give a random player an advantage ?

Possibilities: Sprint, sure feet, kick, dirty player, jump up, leap (now a dwarf with leap that would be strange), very long legs? (stilt speed stilleto heals?) if they were heels maybe stab too.

Lots of possibilities and easy to fluff justify if you need that sort of thing in your league.

I'd go with sprint (and sure feet but only if the boots are studded)

You could make it a semi-permenant version of the inducement card "Orcidas Sponsership". That's +1MA, Sure Feet and Sprint.
Or perhaps "Going The Extra Mile" which is less powerful but moe random (perfect for experimental footwear). This allows you to take as many GFI's as you wish but with an increaseing chance of failure.

I like the Orcidas sponorship idea and rather than making it permenate go for 1 season sponsorship (until you play for the trophy again) or something.

It may be worth while down-grading it a tad though as it is a 200,000g inducement per game normally which is a bit rich for a minor tournament prize.

A once per game "going the extra mile" would still be cool without the potentual to be too unbalancing

I do like the going the extra mile, only once per game. Sounds like a good Dwarvan invention.
