Question & Dilemma!

Post by Schaap »

Hey guys,

I'm playing in a short league (10 matches) with dwarves.
About to play my 5th match against Necro's.

I have 2 questions:
1. Are there any things i should worry about against necro's?
2. I have 130.000gp now i know the best en safest thing should be buying an extra lineman and mayb a reroll. BUT after necro's i'm playing against Lizzards and Skaven so i dont think i'm gonna get mad casualties.
So should i or should i not go for the Deathroller?

Grtz,

Werewolves are a threat to your Dwarf side. High AV is one of their main advantages and Claw removes it.

As to the Deathroller, depends on your side. I'd want four rerolls, 6 blockers and all the other posistionals before I went for the Deathroller. But after that I would take it.

Oh and Skinks and Skaven make prime CAS sources IMO...

Talk to the others that have played against the team. They should be able to enlighten you.

Watch out for the werewolves. That claw makes your Dwarves extra squishy.

Well i already got the positional players..
But i think i'm gonna go for the safe buildup and buy a RR and a LB.

On the werewolf thingie, should i foul em when i can?
Or should w8 till i got more players on the field just to play safe?

And asking the other guys isn't an option cuz they all suck :D.
For most of the guys it's their 1st league.

Foul the werewolves anytime you can. The same goes for witchelves, wardancers and any other "super" players.

And just make sure to play your guys in a tighter formation. Dont leave guys out in the open for the werewolves to pick off. Not sure how developed the wolves are, or even your dwarves for that matter. But make it harder for him to use the Frenzy so if he has to throw the 2nd block it would more often than not a 1d block or better yet 2 your choice.

Like Father said, foul them if you get a chance. Or better yet if he gets careless with the WW, crowd push them with your slayers.

Yep, you want those WW off the pitch quickly. Foul, crowd-push, whatever. They are the main threat. As Father mentioned, do the same with Wardancers, Gutter Runners, Witch Elves, and other "super" players.

Then tie-up the Ghouls and get rid of them if you can as a second priority. With block and tackle you are in a good position to do so. Then with only Wights that can really score it will be pretty tough going for him.

And Flesh golems with Stand firm are a pain if you cant get them over. They can bog you down while the werewolves pick off the edges. Hopefully you've got enough guard to out hit them, if not you may be rolling afew 1 dice blocks, but with a mostly block team v a mostly non block team, this shouldnt be too terrible.

I personally wouldnt advise fouling a werewolf using a dwarf team unless you have the Bribe the Ref inducement or a particulary large number of assists on him, you're using 70k players to foul with on a team of 12, or max 13. You cant afford to risk going men down with a team like dwarves and against 2 claws as well, fouling could land you in more trouble than its worth. Stick to keeping a tight pack of dwarves in offence and keep a dwarf runner back as a sweeper for defense.

Heh, heh, you'd BETTER do somethin' bout the Weres... or you might be in for this:

After 12 games where my opponents have not succeeded in removing my weres

Wolfman Jack 8339 Claw, Frenzy, Regen, Block, +AV, Mighty Blow
9 TDs 3 Cas 44 SPP

The Midnight Growler 8339 Claw, Frenzy, Regen, Block, Dodge, +AV, Mighty Blow
10 TDs 7 Cas 59 SPP

Good Luck!

Hmm i thought about that also.
Not fouling seems a safer way, and i have 3 gaurders now so i think i can magae to keep the front line.

So just outgrind him on the slaugther fest?
