I played flings LRB 4 enviroment and they were very successfull. But I find it difficult to play the flings under LRB 5. I only play online using the tool Galak provides. It seems difficult fo the flings to get any other points aprt from MVP and TDs. With teh new rules the TD rate goes down at least fo my flings) and normally the grab a cas here and a cas there but under LRB 5 they didn't do any cas at all. This is why I think the flings suck at LRB 5. I loved to play flings but now they are just rubbish IMO.

i just srarted a Hell-Fling team, "the Wanking Yankess"
and started them jsut as galak described,
are there any way to play halflings suicidal and fun?
my primary goal with the team is to get the most fun and do it to the max, not minding the outcome of the game, as long as my mate and i has the most fun...
any pointers in what chould be mega fun?

I think the Goblins are good as they are. But the changes for the bribes might help them. Is this the little boost for the Goblins? But I think to lower the price for the chief will not help them as much. So I think there might be some other boost needed. So I will have to wait until Nov. 2008 before I can start the next flings team...GalakStarscraper wrote:I don't totally disagree ... Seriously, if you're playing to win a lot of games then don't play halflings. They only need a small boost so that they're not crushed whenever they come up against dwarves. They are challenging to win with but it can be done. But I think to lower the price for the chief will not help them as much. So I think there might be some other boost needed. In 8 games my halflings have won 3 times (Ogres, Nurgle, Orcs), drew once (Goblins) and lost 4 (Lizards, was close to a draw here, Humans, Pro Elves and Dwarves). Only against the dwarves (9 cas against me) it was a pure massacre where I never stood any chance at all.
If you want to win, play Orcs or Undead or something but don't go changing the colorfull nature of the stunty rosters.

Ok you missed my point a bit. When I play flings I want to have fun first of all. Up to know I didn't play flings using real dices I only played them online via Email. Using the tool pbembb25b it worked quite well. I could score some TDs picked up a few cas on the flings. But under version pbembb_pbbl10d it seems much harder to score a TD and flings and trees seem not to pick up any cas at all. Because of this observation I thought they need a bit more boost then to lower the price for the chief. I don't expect the flings to win any tournament but I would like to surprice a few coaches with the small guys. Nothing more but nothing less.TuernRedvenom wrote:Seriously, if you're playing to win a lot of games then don't play halflings. Galak has done every potential 'Fling Coach out there a great favour with that playbook.
I was looking for a new team to play in my next league and I think I'll give Halflings a try. I really want a team that plays differently to the Orcs that I am currently using.
This set me thinking about the ways I would counter different teams with Halflings. For example, how would I try and break down an Orc cage. Is it good to put TZs on the outer players and dodge in for a 2 dice against block on the ball carrier? Is it better to throw 'flings outside the cage and hope to scatter onto the ball carrier?
Do any of you experienced Halfling Coaches have any favourite plays against specific races?

This and a very slow moving cage helped me swipe a win recently against HE. Two trees very slowly trundled downfield with the rest of the 'lings surrounding the ball carrier eventually creeping close enough to bag a TD before half time. Second half a reduced offence and constant bad rolling left my opponent struggling to get anywhere. He finally gets his space and a long bomb to a catcher I get a mob close to the carrier and lob a 'ling in hope. Hit and taken out of the game. 1-0 robbery.Tackledummy wrote:Try throwing your Halflings at other players to cause casualties. You'll probably do more to yourself than them but it would be a hilarious way of taking out the ball carrier in the pocket if you managed to hit.any pointers in what chould be mega fun?

Hi Galak,
thanks a lot for the great halfling playbook...
it actually made me take my halfling team for another ride, and you know what: I did beat a friends pro elves 3:2 (3:3 on causalities) on my first game with them.
Now if the bbrc team can find an additional boost for them (and believe me, Ive allmost split my head open thinking about a possible idea, without getting the slightest clue) Ill be playing these little guys a lot more...

I've always thought of the master chef as a patch attempting to make a poor team vaguely playable. Hopefully a more player-based change will be implemented (like BHs on 9).dendron wrote:but under version pbembb_pbbl10d it seems much harder to score a TD and flings and trees seem not to pick up any cas at all.
