Taken out of context? I quoted you! lol. We're on the same page with block. You just insinuated it would be a good idea to put wrestle as the second skill because it increased flexibility and survivability, and I was disagreeing. That's all.
Yes. To be "taken out of context" is to take someone's direct quote, and remove it from the context of the rest of the conversation, to draw conclusions, that wouldn't have been drawn had the entire quote been left intact. That's exactly what happened.
Never mind...I know what I mean, and it's not worth arguing over.
I don't recommend taking Block and Wrestle on Witch Elves, OK? But, IF somebody is dead set on giving their Witch Wrestle anyway, then they should still take Block in addition for the protection when it's not their turn.
I can't be more clear than that.

Never mind...I know ...I... Wrestle... Elves.. But.t.s... anyway.
I finally managed to get in a league game against someone other than my GF's Norse! I won against Dwarfs 2 - 0 and then against Ogre's 3 - 0 ( I have also drawn a friendly game 3 - 3 against the Norse)
Now, against other teams I found it much easier. I was able to out manouver the Dwarfs and just crush the snotlings. So I'm feeling much happier about Dark Elves in general but still worried about how the games against the Norse are going to effect me!
Oh, and after scoring 4 of my touchdowns my With Elf has gone up. I rolled a normal skill and took............. Block! I know I went with the crowd, but I can see signs off player targetting coming into our league. So she needs all the skill to keep her up that she can get.
Still will be taking a little wrestle on someone at some point though.
So far I've had a lineman killed, bought a runner and an Assasian (I like him!) so I now have 12 players! Yay.
2 Lineelfs have got dodge, one Blocker dodge and one blocker +1ma which is very useful. I've yet to have any 'interesting' rolls.
Whereas - after the Norse threw a 66 on a wolf, she followed it up with +1 AG on a berseker and a double for strong arm on her thrower! Dang!
Anyway - play nice people! Until you get on the pitch!

I don't see it mentioned here, but Leap is actually a very interesting skill to put on a Blitzer or a Witch Elf. The Witch needs block first, of course.
While I wouldn't make a habit of leaping, at times if you are outflanked or get unlucky in a previous turn (or need to score rapidly) leap can allow you to do outrageous things. On my developed Dark Elves, I tended to use Leap about once a half, or maybe slightly less. But I always used it in key situations.
For me, Linemen should probably all get wrestle or Dodge. With enough linemen who have wrestle, you can always play one or two of them deep to deal with blodgers or other annoying pieces.
So your advice has blasted me to the top of the league, after losing the first two games me Dark Elves are undefeated in 10 with a record of W 9 D 1 L 2.
But I should be careful what I wish for with interesting rolls’,
My team is shaping up nicely,
1. Lineelf Kick
2. Lineelf -1 MA
3. Witch Elf Block, SideStep
5. Runner Nerves of Steel, Pass
7. Lineelf Dodge
9. Lineelf
10. Line Dodge
11. Line Sneaky Git
12. Blitzer Niggling Inj
13. Blitzer Dauntless, Mighty Blow
14. Blitzer Dodge, Sidestep
15. Blitzer +1MA, Sprint
16. Assassin Jump Up.
I’m overall very please with the development for far, However player 7 just went up again and rolled a +1Ag. Should I take it?.
Let me tell you me thinking, 7 + 10 were going to take Block as there next skills, they were going to be my main defensive lineElves, Currently my LOS players are 2, 12 and one other, which could be 10 or 7. So he doesn’t have to be up front, but he’s certainly (was) going to be there now and again and 2 doesn’t often start.
I would love to turn 7, into a Leaping, Pass Blocker +1AG, but that’s 4 skills total (not easy) 80k worth of skills on a very situational player.
This is further reduced by the composition of my league, Norse, Ogres, Dwarves, High Elves, Wood Elves, Vampires, Orcs, 2 x Humans and a Skaven team. I will be playing them most in that order. So it’s not really a high pass league.
More agility would of course be my first choice on a Ag3 player or even one of my Blitzers/Witch Elf, but on a lineman? I’m really not so sure. When exactly would it be useful? Dodging into cage’s perhaps, but then he’s not a hitter, dodging through gaps but again, already Ag4 with dodge, Catching the ball with TZ’s? Why not dodge out the way first?. All in all I’m not seeing how 40k on one player is going to be the best use of my rapidly increasing TV.
What do you think?

Take the AG+ and then Leap. AG5, Leap and Dodge makes for a VERY annoying player, your opponent will have to keep track of him ALL the time, and this is turn will free up the rest of your team.

AG+ and Dodge, in itself, is a nightmare to deal with. Dodge in 1 TZ on a 2+, with a Dodge reroll. Give him Leap next as wesleytj is suggesting, and he will be your opponent's worst nightmare. I dream of such a player on my DE team.
Ok Ok, you guys win, I had to ask about +1MA on a blitzer before and I must admit that has worked out great. So I’m gonna stick with the +1AG, think I will get him leap, Pass Block, Catch, in that order. Going to be using him more on defensive than attacking (i.e not leaping into cages), or for going where no one else can by dodging through gaps.
Cheers for all the advice, Lets hope I survive my next game against Ogre’s, I’ll be giving up nearly 700k in inducements.

You have enough skill opponents to consider getting Tackle on that Sprint Blitzer!
Well I was going to let this thread die the slow painful death that comes to all threads at some point or other – but I just had to tell you about my last game.
An easy 4 – 1 victory, I was able to pick my passes and my scorers, So I gave my Assasin one, my 5Ag guy one, and one to No.14 and one to No.15.
This mean’t that both 14 + 15 went to 31 SPP’s. I throw a Double on number 14! And took guard, but the best is yet to come…..

I like hearing about matches and why you loose or win them.
8448 is a monster. You should do everything with him (as he probably not will survive for too long).
Be able to choose your passer and recievers are extremely good for a DE team as they don't have any catchers. No wonder you won that big.
