Carrying a Team Mate Before Throwing Them??!

Post by Burtblahblahblah »

I was playing a game tonight at the local games club, and my opponent attempted to do this. His ogre "carried" his goblin five squares before throwing him, thus allowing the goblin to score after he was thrown.

I've played BB for a long time, and I've never seen anything like this. It seems pretty absurd, but my opponent argued that because there was nothing in the rules (LRB3) to specifically prevent him from doing it, then he was allowed to. I got fed up arguing (something about a brick wall). He also spent three turns camped next to my endzone before scoring from one square away, so you probably have some idea of what kind of player he is. Still won, though. :)

Thanks for the help.

I was told I could NOT do this last night in an LRB5 game. Sure would have been if I could have, but I think they were right. Maybe if I lobby long enough with a bunch of polls it will happen! :D

This guy sounds like a real class act. I would not play against him again. If you are playing in a league then your league commish should take care of this.

Just because the rulebook doesnt say he can't it doesn't mean he can. :pissed:

The rulebook doesn't say my zombie can't fly 10 squares, so I guess he can. Sweet!

That's a crock of &^%$ argument. The rules cannot possibly cover every eventuality. You should assume everything you can do is explictly listed. If not then it is not allowed.

Out of the skill desription of when to pass the team mate. I think quite clear that u can not walk around with the teammate under your arm. As it states that the teammate to be thrown must be standing on the ground.

You can't NOW, but I think you used to be able to back in the days of BB v2.0, although I could be wrong about that.

@ Worset - posting a LRB 5 wording for a LRB 3 question doesn't help.

I checked the wording of the LRB 3.0 (as stated in the opening post), and it didn't specifically say you couldn't, but then, it didn't specifcally say you could.

Personally, I'd challenge this tw*t to a rematch, and use the rules Xtreme posted above on him. :pissed:

Actually, the rulebook doesn't say that your zombie can't fly to the ball, pick it up and fly into the end zone. So I guess your opponents better not leave the ball in an open square at any time.

Or else it's Zombie Griffon time! *Swoop!*

I've never before seen anyone use such awful logic to try and win, but I'm not suprised that someone has. It's pretty much common knowledge that the rules of a game tell you what you can do. Anything excluded from the rules may not be attempted. That's why they're called rules, because you follow them.

I'd like to come to your games club and slap this guy twice with a week old haddock.

My rulebook actually says I'm allowed to punch you in the face if you try something like this on me.
