Like your suggestion of the Ninja, very funny.
My suggestion of skill for the "Sumo":
Give the Rikishi Fend, rather than Stand Firm.
I like that you gave him 5 MA, most do not realize how mobile those guys are.

You know, I'd love to see this team in action if only so that I get a chance to play with a sumo who's been converted into Fat Bastard.
Oh Ai.

I can see that working as a description of the big fellas, Mv 4 with sprint and sure feet. Juggernaught does work, would those 3 skills and I think a combat skill like fend count as "overdescribed"skatingtortoise wrote:how about the sumos being Ma 3 or 4 with sprint/sure feet? so they can move, but only for the vital rush.

A while back I came up with the following nippon team:
0-16 lineman 6338 G 50k
0-2 'ronin' runner 7338 sure hands GP 80k
0-2 'ninja' receiver 7337 dodge, shadowing GA 80k
0-2 'sumo' blocker 4428 stand firm GS 80k
0-2 'samurai' blitzer 7338 block GS 90k
RR 60k (maybe 50k)
Perhaps you like some of the ideas.

All of your prices are perfect, IMO. Even the TRR cost. I am also happy with the ninja, sumo and samurai names. I know they don't make sense in Japan but it makes me happier to see them on the team.Physix wrote:A while back I came up with the following nippon team:

I quite like the idea of Ronin playing, maybe as blitzers (or an alternative Blitzer type if the "4 player types" enforcers wern't looking.
I don't see real samuri taking the pitch in serous games, perhaps play "back yard" or "samuri only" games
Or
"Team Samuri"
1- 16 linemen 7 3 3 8 Block 90K GSA
RR 50
may have apoth, no Mage, no Freebooters no way

Maybe you should secretly write down which of your lineman is a ninja for this game only (the ninja player must be on your roster).
During the game you can reveal the ninja lineman with move 8 and shadowing (and other skills this ninja player might have). With a lineman 8 squared from the endzone, or next to a player with the ball, this becomes quite a tactic.
Since he doesn't get the skills from the player he replaces, but does have his own (to represent this, the ninja player should be in the reserves), he can be revealed by claiming to have skills or lacking them when blocked (f.i).
