Patience?

Those are things that go to Doctors.

Tim, if they want it done quickly, get them to do it, maybe then they'll realise it's not so simple.

Fact is i'm still giving 3 new guys a chance to pick their nickname. But i think their time is up soon ...

Then i'll enter the results and watch my CD ranking soar ;)

You see Tim, that's where you're going wrong. Trying to encourage new people into the hobby when you should really have been concentrating on making Mad Mike happy. [/sarcasm]

Seriously though, maybe one thing to look at for the future is uploading known NAF games straight away and then uploading those with new sign ups later on. Don't know whether this would be possible or not? :-?

The problem with that would be, that you cannot calculate the games correctly. The only games you can calculate are these of the people that only played against NAF people that also only played against NAF people. As soon as you play against a "new" NAF, all your later games and the games of the "NAF people" you play in later matches cannot be calculated.

can you not just give them a name each (and keep trak of who is who), put the results in and then change them when they take another three weeks to choose one for themselves?

Nope, changing NAF nicks is a big NoNo currently as far as i know. I know there's a few coaches wainting for that option ;)

The rankings are only calculated after the tournament is finalized, but once the tournament is finalized, only the upper upper NAF management can change things.

Guass next year i should bring my laptop with wireless internet, so i can enter everything realtime :P

You should only notify telephone numbers of the newbies in future, to have a better option for communication.

And yes - changing NICKS is not possible, only the real names can be changed, e.g.: from Knoeppel to Becker :D

Maybe it needs to be added (maybe after a set time limit) that if they cannot think of a user name they are given a number (insert Prisoner joke here) and the powers that be change when said person has chosen

Because 77 people are waiting over three people who have either given a duff email over or cannot choose between Rose Petal and Coasters Rule as a user name.

Or they could all marry Frank to change there name later :D

You can enter the results you can now, then when they pick their names enter the remaining games. Any games that are affected by this will automatically be recalculated.

e.g. newbie 1 plays porritt first round and then porritt plays hangus second round. Before adding Newbie 1, porrit's rating would not count his first game but now it does so game 1 AND game 2 for porritt are recalculated.

If that makes sense.... :?

Not really, cos that means that either:

a) I lost my first game vs noob, or
b) Hangus won his

I don't understand either option...

Lucifers idea is not only possible but happens regularly in the UK. The NAF calculation system allows for that. Later games in this situation would be adjusted accordingly
