Would you ever take Nurgle to a tournament? (110K)

Title says it all: i think these guys have some potential; but i wonder if they won't suffer too much without skills...

Anyone have any experience (playing with or against?)

If you'd like to win the tourney, the answer is no. With 1.100.000 gs, most teams will have most of their positionals (=skills) and some Re-Rolls. Your Nurgle Team won't get those essential skills (Block, Dodge, Sure Hands, ...) buying their positionals.

Nurgle are great in a long term league, but I don't think they have what it takes to win a tourney.

They are a considerably better choice than chaos. Thier biggest drawback, decay on the rotters will have no effect at all in a reset tornament, so basically you get a cheap linmen with no built in drawback.
The team will need rerolls, so take advantage of that to fill up with them.

I would take
3RR
1 beast
3 Nurgle warriors
2 pestigors
6 rotters
2 FF

with 5338 the rotters are decent albeit slow all around players. They can support the beast and warriors for blocking (not that they will really need it) or they can help the pestigors to score (or do it themselves in a pinch)

Pretty sure it was Norse that came 2nd at WaterBowl. There was a Nurgle team around 4th or 5th I think though.

You really do need a lot of skills at the start to make Nurgle competative IMO.

Sproutman played Nurgle on table 1 in the last game of Waterbowl but finished outside of the top three.

With Nurgle, it's a question of whether you want to take two rerolls and plenty of positionals, or take three rerolls and compromise on quality.

With front-loaded skills e.g. plenty of block and maybe a double roll for a leader I think they're pretty handy.
