New skill: Bullseye.

Got a great idea and/or proposal for BloodBowl?

New skill: Bullseye.

Post by Magic Dave »

Bullseye: the ball will only scatter two squares if the pass is missed but not fumbled.

Could work well with hail mary and diving catch, but would need throwers to have quite a lot of SP's before this skill would really kick in and catchers with diving catch as well.

Thoughts please.

I think this would make teams like elves and skaven super passing teams. It's a nice idea but I think you'll find that the reduced scattering will make missed pass "accidental" catches by covering players a bigger issue.

A bit of play testing would probably reveal a bit more of the impact.

Only in leagues as most tourney games dont let you have more than one skill per player, and it could still go tits up even if the catcher has diving catch.

And if you see the two skills on a roster, its easy to stop as hail mary is always the end of a players turn. So it would be hard to score on the turn the throw was made, because of the fact if you stand in the end zone you lose three squres.

:o :o your joking right, you have a 1 in 8 chance of the ball coming back to you them its a -1 to the catch roll, and who would really take this over a better skill like accurate/sure hands as the first skill.

The idea for this skill is a combo with other skills, i cant see many taking it as a first skill or in a tourney but linked with hail mary and diving catch it could be good.

But for making a high ag team way too good is silly, only when they have the other skills will bulls eye really work.

It's an interesting idea, but given all the other passing options, I really don't think I'd ever take this skill. Skaven don't often use HMP/DC since a one-turner is easier to develop than that. Meanwhile, elves just have so many more useful skills that they can pick after their thrower develops Pass, Accurate and/or Strong Arm (dodge, NOS, side-step).

Hi all,
I think I did the math (nerdy, I know) for the ball to come back to the recievers TZ with 2 and 3 scatters - and the difference is actually minute! Don't remember, but both come out at just around 50%.

As an aside, my league at one point allowed HMP to also be used to reroll one scatter roll on an inaccurate pass. That was fun, but by no means powerful.

Cheers
Martin
