Which one performs better?

Post by Teluriel »

I'm trying to decide which one of these two teams will be my next:

- Undead
- Necromantic

I really like those werewolves (necro), but i think lacks that extra bit of punch, no?

Even when looking at the statistics of Ian; I'd say undead performs on overall better; or does someone has something to say that disagrees with this?

Under LRB5, Undead are better than Necro, which is why they're looking a boost for Necro for LRB6.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

When looking at the statistics from the NAF-site; it strikes me that NONE of the top coaches with necromantic have played them under LRB5.0...

This tells me that they aren't viable anymore for tourney play...(yes, i like to play with the same teams during a league and a tournament to get the hang of them).

Has anyone tried Necro's under LRB 5.0 at a tournament?

I saw one Necromantic team at WaterBowl (Dwarven Madam) I think but I can't remember how that worked out. Don't remember seeing them at MonkeyBowl.

Certainly, I'd avoid taking the Flesh Golums for tournie play.

Undead seem to be a LOT more popular for tournie play.

I´ve played the Necros at Dungeon Bowl and placed fifth, you can manage to hold the opponent away from your touchdown zone with your golems, but otherwise... you lose big time ^^ with Zombies for 40k you can´t use your speed of combined Werewolves, Ghouls and Whigths... not without crippling your rerolls. If you want to play the team in Season and Tournament, take Undead ^^

In our league the wolwes kept catch as a skill, and this gives the team the edge back that they were missing. I've played 14 matches without a loss and only two ties. I think their fun and versatile and giving wolves catch gives the team the offensive edge they need to begin with. However, if u do get a house rule on this, don't let the wolves score all the td's, but try to spread out the Spp's

Yeah, i'd say that gave them back their edge! Unless you're a BB god who never rolls 1s, 2s or skulls, or the rest of your league are rubbish!?

Personally I've always been rubbish with Necros and have never played with the Undead, so don't know what they're like.

All that proves is that Necro wolves are too powerful with catch! If Necros can win half their games without catching wolves, then there is parody and Necros are fine.

i played with Necros this week for the first time against an experienced player who took Elfs & we ended with 2-2

I like them - i took 2 FG, 2 WW, 2 Wights 2 RR ,5 Zombies (in our league we start with free FF5)

i'll be using them this season for sure. d

1) I think you mean parity, not parody.

2) 14-0 just means Damaian is really good, his league sucks, or both. I doubt that record is due just to catch on the wolves!
