chain saw and multi block
if a player who has a chainsaw was to have multi block could he use his chainsaw for one block and then block dice for the other.

Re: chain saw and multi block
No because a player with a chainsaw cannot make normal blocks.fire olli wrote:if a player who has a chainsaw was to have multi block could he use his chainsaw for one block and then block dice for the other.

Hmm, I'd disagree on this one (from the way the rules are written at present) as Multiple Block is possible from making a Block Action, not from the ability to make normal blocks (cross ref to thread on Ball & Chain and Multiple Block - Move Action v Block Action)
If the two aren't meant to work together then it'd be worth adding Multiple Block as being disallowed with Chainsaw to stop any confusion.
Quite clear that it's a Block Action, and that you "throw blocks" against two oppos (the strength of each being increased by 2)Multiple Block (Strength)
At the start of a Block Action a player who is adjacent to at least two
opponents may choose to throw blocks against two of them. Make each
block in turn as normal except that each defender's strength is increased
by 2...
The Chainsaw retains the Block Action part, and even retains the concept of blocking, but rolling D6 instead of Block dice.Chainsaw (Extraordinary)
A player armed with a chainsaw must attack with it instead of making a
block as part of a Block or Blitz Action. When the chainsaw is used to
make an attack, roll a D6 instead of the Block dice.
If the two aren't meant to work together then it'd be worth adding Multiple Block as being disallowed with Chainsaw to stop any confusion.

I agree with lucifer, a Chainsaw player still does a Block action, only the part of throwing the block is altered. That's the reason why Multiple Block & Stab works fine.
I'm nontheless with Galaks answer, but I think he didn't point out the right reason why Chainsaw & Multiple Block don't work together:

That's the contradiction of the whole thing. The chainsaw skill does force your player to use it, while it's forbidden to use it twice per turn the same time.LRB 5 wrote:A player armed with a chainsaw must attack with it instead of making a block as part of a Block or Blitz Action.

It's not really a contradiction. Multiple Block gives you two blocks, chainsaw replaces those blocks with chainsaw attacks and also limits you to one chainsaw attack a turn, so that second block is wasted. Hard Edam Chuck, stop trying to be super beardy.
It would be easier to say on multiple block 'this skill may not be used with a chainsaw' but no-one over here has ever failed to understand that multi-block just doesn't work with a chainsaw.
